A v3c is a CDMA phone - not GSM.

I got a Razr V3 a couple months back and went nuts hacking on it, but somewhere in the mix, I messed something up, and some functions just don't function as they were when it was new.
I bought it from a Cingular store, so it's Cingular branded. Haven't unlocked it since they're my service provider.
Two questions...
1) When I flash and flex my phone, what specific files need to be backed up to keep my contacts/phone book intact? I'm sure it's in this thread somewhere, but I don't have time to read it all. Also, would flexing erase the few games I've downloaded?
2) What from Planet MotoX would best restore my V3 to its original setup, or at least come closest to its original setup? So many to choose from, I just don't know which I should use. Even after all the seem edits and other hacks I did to my phone I'm still a bit new at this. I'm banking on S/W Version: R374_G_0E.42.09R_MOTOX.shx from the site, but the whole unlocked thing in the description makes me wary.
Er... another. Just noticed whilst searching for my flex/flash versions in my phone - Master reset. Would that restore everything to its original factory settings, or would the seem edits stick?
Thanks so much for any help.

1) For the phonebook the best method is to use MPT to back up all the contacts. Yes your games will be deleted but you can copy them to your PC using any of the p2k programs. Also backup your a/websession file and make a note of your settings under MMS message setup>server info. Backup any other files - e.g. pictures or rings important to you.
The latest Cingular Monster Pack is download
S/W Version: R374_G_0E.42.09R_MOTOX.shx
Flex Version: GSMV3MXCIN01NA0F5
Use that and then the reflash_mlp file download R374_G_0E.42.10R_B_reflash_mlp_MOTOX.shx to get the latest firmware
3) A master reset / clear will not undo any seem edits

One last question before I do this... will a flex delete all the contacts that're still on my sim card, or is everything on there safe?

Hrm.
Is R374_G_0E.42.09R_MXLP0001_GSMV3MXCIN01NA0F5_superfile_MOTOX.shx a flash, a flex, or both? I tried to flash my phone with it using this guide and got this:
Status: TCN cannot be initialized!
Result: FLASH aborted! Cannot initialize the test command engine
I'll just assume I'm doing something wrong, and I should be flexing with this file instead. But I'll wait for a reply before I do anything further. Everything is backed up, and the flash was aborted, so the phone is unharmed.
Thanks for dealing w/me asking too many questions.

It is both flash and flex. It sounds like you are missing some of the drivers. Start the phone in bootloader mode (hold # and * while powering on) then try to flash it - see if it finds more hardware

That did it. I had to upgrade in bootloader mode. Only problem now is, when I start the phone, I briefly get a dialog that says "Flex error: Phone subsidy locked." Don't know what it means, but everything seems to be working ok. Thanks much!!
