I've been doing some searching.. but I can't get a clear answer when using the V3c phone from Altell...

Can I use this firmware for the V3c phone? http://www.themotoguide.com/downloadfirmware.php

If not.. is there anything I can change/install on a V3c so I'll be able to add ringers/games from my PC?

Thks..

Those firmwares are for the normal V3 - entirely different to your V3c - so not not compatible I'm afraid.

I believe you can do some mods to allow MPT to transfer ringtones but I think games are brew rather than java so you can't do anything with them.

I'm really don't know much about the CDMA models though - try the V3c forum at motomodders

Thanks.. after searching I got my answer..
Your right about BREW.. as far as I can tell, it hasn't been cracked yet.

Using two tools, I have complete access to pics/ringers/skins for my V3C.

after USB drivers are installed..
Run RSD Lite v2.6 and minimize.. then open
P2K Commander and your done.

I have an L2 that I wish to program to my carrier (Cingular-Philadelphia area). I have access to an L2 programmed as I desire this one to be. I have seen various posts here questioning "mirroring" a phone without nessesarily Flexing - is this possible? The L2 was originally programmed to be a PTT phone ("Rodgers" Cellular Service in Canada), but Cingular does not support that function in thier L2 phones, those buttons have other functions. Cingular also states thier frequencies are 850/1900 but this phone states 900/1800-1900 which is causing reception limitations. Can I hook-up the good L2 to a computer to make a Back-Up file that I could restore the bad one to? Of course if that is not possible, does anyone have the needed L2 Flex and Flash Files for Cingular?
Thanks........

So I have the original style V3 silver razr which first came on to the market. I still haven't flashed or flexed this phone and arn't really sure where to start. I have looked around the forums but still need some help.

I found a guide here and monsterpack with everything:

http://www.themotoguide.com/downloadfirmware.php

Im not quite sure about the above pack. My phone was unlocked/sim free with no carrier. Also the above monsterpack doesn't appear to have a release date.

What firmware should I be using for this phone?

Any help would be appreciated.

THX!

What do you want to achieve? The latest firmware is 42.17R - you can get it at www.motomodders.net

Hi all,

I managed to completely wipe my V3 when trying to remove the subsidy lock. Right now, the lights are on but no one's home! It's only recognised as a Blank Neptune flash device and it tells me I'm trying to re-flash a blank phone.
Is this fixable? or is there any point in trying!
Thanks!

What exactly happened?

Try removing battery, hold * and # while replacing battery, if you get into bootloader flash a reflash file

Did you make a pds backup?

I followed the detailed instructions on this page below and the end result was a dead phone:

http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic43620-0-asc-120.html

I was having trouble backing up so didnt do it in the end icon_sad.gif..cant remember the error now.

no joy with trying to get into bootloader that way.....

Phone just sits there with the key lights on matter what.
