Hi there,
I'm trying to download a .wav file from my PC to my motorola v180 but I'm only offered doing it through text messaging. The thing, the network I'm on doesn't have SMS yet (I know, crapy huh?). N E wayz, is there a way I can just download it straight using a data cable? Please reply if you can. Thanks

Doesn't the V180 has mms capatiblity? You would need to use mms if you are to send picture or ringer from your phone.
Via usb data cable, you would need a software such as mobile phone tools, mss, or p2kman to transfer files....

DuceDuc, so if I'm correct, there's no way possible of just downloading straight via data cable? you need mms, etc?

Not quite. Mms message is a service offer by your phone provider. Of course, the phone must have mms capability as well. Check with manual.
The cheaper way in the long run is to use a data cable with mobile phone tools software. For example, Cingular charges .25 per mms message and .10 per sms message. Getting the cable and software is a one time fee and you can transfer as many files as you want.

mms is a feature that is in your phone. It should be located under new message or create message.
The software you are refering to is mobile phone tools by motorola.

any suggested sites where you can download straight via data cable, not having to use text messaging in order to get the tone itself?

You must have not read the rules for this forum yet , anyway is against the rules to ask or post links to software in this forum. Whatever you do outside of this forum is ok. If you need further assistance you can knock on my door.

Old fool could you please help me with a driver issue on my motorola v180. If you could email me I would appreciate it. I have found tons of downloads for the phone using bittorrent but no driver. Someone needs to make a torrent of the driver for everyone to share.
