Before you run P2Kman, run PST Phone Programmer, that will connect the phone, then close your PST Phone Programmer, and start P2Kman, then you should be good ...

I have a v300 and was trying to get rid of the stupid noises when you do the auto-timed capture. I replaced the count_down_5.wav and count_down_10.wav with silent .wav files of the same length and same file name, but now if I try to do auto-timed capture it says system busy...any ideas on how to make it work or change it back?

Thanks

This is what confuses me: What I want to do is download wallpapers and ringtones, so will p2kman and the usb data cable be all I need? Will I need the Mobile Phone Tools if I have p2kman?

If I do need MPT, is this the right version for me ( I use v551):

For what you are doing, p2kman is all you need along with a usb data cable. However, depending on the verizon of your p2kman, you may need pst installed to have p2kman functioning.

The mpt software link you have provided looks like the correct software for your phone.

Oh ok, thanks for the help.

Sorry if this is a n00b quesion, but under what circumstances or for what sorts of funtionality would I ever need to use MPT if I can get away with using only p2kman?

I'm just making sure because I do not want to buy only the usb cable and then have to buy the usb+MPT pack again if I will need the MPT in the near future.

Besides transfering files between phone & pc, mpt can also sync your outlook inbox to your phone, edit mp3 files, use as a modem, backup contacts.
