Hi All! I'm new here. But I wanna ask I've recently bought a new Motorola v3, which comes with USB data cable, Hands-free set and a CD with drivers (P2Ktools), which works fine and gives me opportunity to upload wallpapers, fotos, melodys and videos. But however, as I undrstand, it is not suitable for uploading Themes (skins) and games.DO I have to use P2Kman for this, I've tried but It just dosn't work, no matter how hard I try. So If someone has a suggestion, pm me to www.bad-mf@bk.ru, or write on forum. Thanks! icon_wacko.gif

Use at your own risk!

What is p2kman?
P2kman is an editing software to upload, download, edit, or delete of files
within your phone.

What can p2kman do?
P2kman lets you customize your phone. It allows you to enable or disable
certain features.

This is what confuses me: What I want to do is to delete a game. How can i do that? icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

icon_sad.gif I can go into my phone java menu. There says: delete all the applications. I am afraid of deleting all of the games. icon_wacko.gif

i have already used p2kman with my motorola C550 without complications. i downloaded & installed p2kman program and drivers, then downloaded/uploaded pictures/midis.

NOW i reinstalled windows xp and did exactly the same as above but p2kman.exe encounters a problem. error signature says that the problem is in pst.dll.

why am i having problems now, when there isn't any difference in what i was doing on my previous OS and what i am doing now?

You guys are making it so difficult to upload ringtones and wallpapers on your phones. The easiest thing ive ever used is called "tone this". Find their website, download the demo version. AFter you download the program, its gonna ask u for ur information, i.e your phone model, where your located. There is a box that also asks you for your phoen number. Just put any number there. GO and start uploading mp3 ringtones from your computer, pick a section of that song you would like as a rington, press convert, then click upload. BOOM. done. Same way with wallpapers but you dont have to convert nothin. Just browse then upload. YOU DONT EVEN NEED THE USB CABLE! After you click upload, a lil box will come up and it'll give u a url which u can put into your phone and download it from there. So simple. All you have to worry about is you have to keep changing "your phone number" wink wink, because if you try to upload 2 things with one phone number, it will end the demo and try to charge 20 bucks for the program. So after you do an upload, look for a button that says "profile", look for your phone number, and then enter another made up phone number.

Now I would like to ask for help----

I did a very noob mistake evn tho im not that new to this stuff. I somehow ended up deleting the WHOLE ENTIRE FOLDER in my /a/ directory thats labeled skins. WHich is my phones skins. Now, my phone is just a black screen icon_squint.gif .Please some one explain to me how I can re make this file in my directory, and if possible, please send me the files I need for the moto skin so after i make the folder it will work. MY email is muslim4eva1989@yahoo.com ...... or just pm me. Please help. My phoen is worthless righ tnow. (V3 Razr).

Thanx all for all of your unthanked help before when I was just beginning to cuztomise my phone in so many ways. You guys are amazing. icon_heart.gif

Uhh you can do that and delete a lotttt more by using XXXSAMSUNGXXX's 10mb+ memory method. Its quite amazing really. Deletes a lot of stuff. ONce again, as with any other modifications to your phone, USE AT UR OWN RISK:

And I qoute:
"(read and fully understand coding before starting this process. If you need help, please ask. If you don’t, it could lose you your phone!!!)

Use this tutorial at your own risk. This mod is not for beginners and can cause serious damage to your phone. I take no responsibiliy for any damaged done to your phone even if you follow my tutorial exactly.

Before starting, change all ring details to silent, no alarms setup and ringer id's are disabled, this is to prevent you from getting kicked to main menu when trying to access ringstyles menu (after deleting sounds from phone directory).

Alright so I have received quite a few emails and seen it posted a couple times since I updated my profile stating that I had over 10MB of memory on my V3 RAZR. Here is how I did it:

When I received my phone is had the 79R flash on it and flex SE8642BXXB7088. First thing that I did was update to the newest flash I knew of R374_G_0E.42.08R this brought the available memory from 5.5MB to 7.3MB. I didnt upgrade the flex at all because I was going to be debranding the phone anyways. Using P2kman I deleted the following files from my phone (ONLY AFTER BACKING THEM UP!)

/a/
DL_DB_INET_RECORDS - Gets rid of provider shop links
Scarlet.tcf - Icon for scarlet skin (dont delete if you want to keep this skin)
Silver.tcf - Icon for silver skin (dont delete if you want to keep this skin)
ss_scarlet)176x220~~ - more theme/skin graphics
wp_scarlet_176x220~~
Silver Skin Wallpaper 176x2~~
Silver Screen Saver 176x2~~
mib_op_greet
OICQBuddyDatabase - Assuming this has to do with IM (dont delete if you are going to use IM)

**Pretty much everything else in this folder needs to stay the way it is, I may have forgot some files, but basically everything that has to do with the IM and skins can go!... make sure that you DO NOT delete the moto theme skin stuff!!!**

/a/mobile/audio
Delete everything except:
funlight.pat
MyToneDB.db
TempToneDB.bd

**Leave Start~up.mp3 & Power~down.mp3 if you want them... I deleted these files as I dont care for Startup/Shutdown sounds**

/a/mobile/pictures
Delete Everything

/a/mobile/skins/Scarlet (If you want max space and dont care about skins)
Delete everything

/a/mobile/skins/Silver (If you want max space and dont care about skins)
Delete everything

/a/mobile/system
shutter1.amr
shutter2.amr
shutter3.amr
shutter4.amr
shutter5.amr
wvim.emoticons - for IM
wvim_emoticons_yahoo

**do not delete mma_ucp/mma_dcp (menu) files or the count_down files (or your timer for your camera will not work anymore)**

/a/mobile/wvim
Delete everything if you dont care about your IM

Also using P2kmenueditor I removed the IM graphic from the main menu and replaced it with the motomixer from the multimedia section because I had an extra icon after enabling the Video Camera. There are probably a couple other files I forgot about that I deleted but this is the bulk of it, pretty much leave everything in the /a/ folder alone unless I said delete, I didnt touch the following directories /a/mobile/audio/vavr, /a/mobile/certs, /a/mobile/mib, /a/mobile/kjava.

The files names on your phone will vary from the ones I have listed above because most people dont have the flex my phone came with but you get the idea of what you can and cannot delete.

Some other good tips for maxing out your available memory on the V3, change file attribute on all files in /a/mobile/skins/Moto to 0 (zero) You can still use the skin but it frees up ALOT of total memory.

With this tutorial you should easily be able to reach 9MB without breaking a sweat, anything more is just extra . By the end you will not have any sounds, pictures or videos. So start loading it full of your custom stuff! Enjoy!

I reached 10463KB!!! after alittle trial and error."

Please thank samsung for this very helpful information.

AFter you do that, you should be able to go into java, click menu, and actually choose to delete the game. (Thats if you cant already do that, nto sure. My screen is broken icon_cry.gif .

I am trying to use p2kman to transfer some mp3s to my phone (v710). It says connected, but gives me the following error:

Receiving file list...FileList entry size invalid!
Fail!

Does anyone know what I can do? I've used the program to transfer mp3s to a v3 and a v400, but I can't transfer things to mine! PST version 7.11 can read from and write to my phone (i.e. phonebook, phone info etc.), so I know I have drivers and stuff set up right. I'm using WINXP SP2 and a USB cable for my phone. Please help!
