I Just got referbed v600 phone from ATT and am experiencing some problems with it.

It seems to be randomly locking the display out. The screen seems to go white. The back light works and you can make and receive calls but the screen just stays white.

Some times if you let it sit for a while (like minutes not seconds) the screen will come up.

We've tried turning the phone off and on and removing the battery and nothing seems to have an effect on it.

It only seems to be white when you open the phone. In other words i haven't seen it go from working to white.

Has any one seen this before?

I'm assuming it's a hard ware problem (probably why it was returned in the first place) and I’ll have to get it exchanged.

Has any one here dealt with exchanging a phone with att?

It's rather worrying that they are selling customers faulty phones. Did you buy it in a store or off their site? My V600 has acted similar to that on occasions, then again, my phone has been down my toilet.

Take the phone back, complain - make a big deal out of it, and they might throw in something extra to make up for it.

I have not experienced any problem like that. Then again, my phone was purchased brand new. Take it back. Demand another one. Good luck....

The problem is i bought it on line and i have to send it back in.

I only have a cell phone and it sounds like they won't give me a replacment phone while it's in the shop which will be at lease 2 days.

I have a family plan so i actully got two v600s. The other one is having problems witht he camera on it. But it's not a big deal for me because it's not something i'll use all that often.

Does the display screen looks fine? When the screen displays properly, you can see all pixels, nothings seems out of the ordinary?

If you know for sure that they will replacement, I would sent it in. Two weeks, is a long time to wait, however.

On the other hand, it maybe be a bug in the firmware. You can try flash/flexing the phone. Of course, that will void all warrenty. If you can't return it. This is worth a shot.

I don't think it's the firmware because if you shut it off and take out the battery the thing will still come up white.

BTW how would you go about flashing the phone? I have PST, do you use that to do it?

I used PST to allow me to up load apps on to my phone.
I got the directions from this web site on how to do it.

www.xxxxxx.com

Does any one know by doing that does it void my warranty?

Yes, you do use pst to flash/flex the phone and yes it will void the warrenty.

We are not allow to post links to warez on here. Mobiledia could be sued if ever caught.

From what I read from your posts, you didn't do anything to the phone. It is a question of whether the store will take it back. You are fine.

The link did came from this forum. Apparently, this member has failed to read the rules for Mobiledia...
