I have Mobile Phonetools Version 2.21B with a Motorola V505 GSM Phone with service from AT&T. I installed the software and connected the phone to the computer. Windows recognized the phone and added it to the modem list. The problem is that I cannot get Mobile Phonetools to connect to the phone. Is there a setting that I missed? I have found little to no support on this topic on the net. Please help.
Thanks,
Chris

jaba813:
After you installed the mpt and do liveupdate, did you direct windows to look in the mpt folder under program file for the driver when you plug in the phone to pc? Windows might have installed a generic driver which mpt does not recognize.
Installed the modem under phone & modem in control panel. Reinstall driver located in mpt.
Try a different usb port if available.
I just reinstall my mpt after I reformatted my harddrive. I had no problems.

If you direct to just the folder, windows will do the rest.
Curious, did you just install the 2.21b or did you installed 1.23c and then the upgrade? You will need to install the orginal version first.

Thankfully I just replied to a topic almost identical to this and I have the instructions.
Do as follows:
1. 'Add New Hardware Configuration' prompts you.
2. Select 'Install from a list or specific location'
3. X 'Search for best driver in these locations
'Search Removable Media(Floppy, CD-ROM...)'
X 'Include this location in the search'
for PST (C:\Program Files\Motorola\PST)
for MPT (C:\Program Files\mobilephone tools)or something similar
Note: This will vary on which program you are using.
Note2: X means check this | means dont check this
After that let it search it should find your driver then hit finish and your all done.

im having the same problem recently. same mpt version, with v525. everything worked just perfectly one month ago. it says "Motorola USB Modem" in the device manager, which looks fine. i have no clue, the program just doesnt recognize my cell, it keeps sayin "No Modem Installed", however it is installed obviously.
