Hello,
I hope that some one will be able to help me. I have loaded mobile phone tools and updated to version 3.0. I am able to sync my calendar and phonebook but am unable to use the multimedia studio the tool brings up my computer but the window for my phone is empty and when I try clicking on root folder i get a message of processing failed.

Also the over all sync button doesn't work on the phone main side menu and the initialization indicator never stops on the main phone menu. The phone not connected icon is showing as well, but as I said I am able to manipulate the phone book and the calendar ok.

thank you for your help

hello duceduc,

thank you for the reply. Yes I have done a live update to no avail.
I have also begun to play with the modem properties to see what that does. Nothing so far, no suprise as I am no techie and so I am merely pressing buttons without knowing what they do.

So your modem working fine?.
In modem property click update driver and chose specific location and point it ot Sample C:\ program\MPT\inf. try that to see if it working cause it might have use the old modem not the updated one. You can go to MPT folder and click on INF folder then u'll see XP sub folder in there it's got every thing you need click on the file to see what they are for just for fun, but what do i know? i'm an old_fool . Good luck icon_smile.gif

Yes,
I am able to use the phone book tool and the calendar tool just fine, but am unable to use the mobile explorer.

Within the mobile explorer I can see my files in the 'MY Computer' frame and they seem to be fully navicable. But nothing appears in the 'Mobile Phone' frame except the tabs (my phone, my pictures, my music) nothing in the window itself and nothing happens when I click the various tabs.

The text 'Parent Folder' is in outline mode and is not responsive, the text 'Root Folder' is clickable and when I click it a popup window opens with the message "processing failed" and an OK button.

puzzled,
Alfred

I'm having the same exact problem with MPT and my v220. I installed MPTv3.0 from CD and used the driver from the cd. The driver is dated 4/5/2004 and is version 2.0.0.4 (hmmm?). Live update says all is well but MMExplorer.exe doesn't work, crashing if I try to transfer anything to the phone and not showing anything that is on the phone. I was just wondering if this mystery was ever solved.

Also, I received this phone free for signing up with Cingular. Is there anyway possiblity they locked me out of the phone to force me to purchase ringtones, and ect from them?

Thank you.

Try to go to your fone modem now and do update driver, choose specific location and point it to your MPT folder .Sample C:\program\mpt\inf, now that you have live update it to 3.19 the newest verson the right driver should be in there. Cingular has nothing to do with this ptoblem

make sure you don't have both BT dongle and a cable at the same time. this may confuse programs that have the ability to use both.
& try loading with a different usb port..if it don't work, go back to original and setup again and it will begin from default mode
