First of all, I apologise for my English, that is not quite good.
I recently bought a USB data cable for the Samsung E820 on ebay, it was cheap, so i think it's not the official one. The problem is when I plug the cable into the mobile, it turn off automatically and I can't tun it back on again until i take off the battery and put it on back again.
I had send a email to the seller and he say that if I have any problem with the cable i can send it back, then they will test it and if it is really not working they will send me back a new one with no extra charge. But that if it is working they are going to charge an extra.
I heard that if your try some incompatible cables they turn off the mobile, so I was writing this post here to see if anybody else had the same problem or can give and advise of what to do.
The cable code seems to be WT048000317 .

I hope somebody could help me. icon_wink.gif

be carefule about buying generic usb cables off of ebay. i heard read several posts stating that battery was drained or even killed the phone with these generic cables. i would definitely suggest buying samsung oem cables. if it doesn't have the official label and part number on the cable, it's a knock-off.

not saying this to anybody on this post but just question the logic of going cheap on a cable and possibly screw up a $200-$500 phone? just pay the extra money and rest assured that your phone will still work after connecting. i've already screwed up one phone because of this. fortunately it was a free phone.

just my opinion...

I understand what everyone is saying about gettings things cheap and how it is better to pay the extra and buy from a reputable company. The point is that these fraudulant people need to be exposed and prosecuted, not just accepted and allowed to keep taking money from people who trust in what they advertise. with your help in complaining, we can remove people like this and be able to shop without worrying if we are getting ripped off oneway or another! Help us, yourself and others to clear out the rubbish from ebay. Enough complaints to ebay the quicker we will be able to get rid of them!
Support ebay and COMPLAIN!!

that's true, we should report these fraudulent sellers on ebay or at least relay the information through this forum and others.
