SHORT Version:
My T730 continually restarts. A battery removal stops the process.
I think after I get this fixed, i'm going to abandon all hope of putting images/ringtones/games on the phone!....
LONG Version:
I have a T730. This morning I was able to transfer 1 image to it by using PST 7.1.1, exporing a m-services backup, adding the new image with ems manager, and uploading again.... This evening I tried to add more... same procedure and when it finished PST stated that the 4 new graphics failed as well as the ringtone I tried to add. When the phone tried to restart it did just that, and again, and again, and again. I pulled out the battery and tried to no avail... Put battery in and push power, Motorola logo appears. Screen goes back but is still lit...then it dims and it restarts.
ANY suggestions? ARRGH, should have left well enough alone.
Thanks,
Marvin J

I suggest you short pin and Re-flash/flex your phone. I'll see if I can't review what you did and spot and error but I'm not entirely sure theres too many ways out besides Re-flashing your phone... Sorry man...

Ok one idea is plug the charger in tell me if the usual charge screen comes up. If that works I'll go into greater detail of maybe how you can get the phone back.

I actually tried the charger thing, After I plug it in, and Turn it on, i get the motorola logo, after a little while it restarts and I get the motorola logo again.
About Reflashing/flexing my phone.... I am a newbie.
-What exactly does this do?
-What information do i need from my service provider to retain service?
-Will i loose my 'get it now' games that I've paid for?
-Will it void my warranty?
-Am i better off just taking it back, and saying... "I don't know what happened, it just started doing this." (we have a local verizon dealer)
any and all information is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Marvin J:
Yes, flash/flex will void your warranty! If you can take it back for exchange, I recommend you doing that. However, if you can't, modding your phone is your best bet.

Well, I took it back. The kid said that because it wasn't physically damaged, they would replace it. I conviently neglected to tell them that I was putzing with the data cable. My question now is:
Was what I was doing earlier void the warranty?
Please refer to my other post earlier in the week....http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic20000.html
I've got 4-6 weeks to find out about my phone but if I know it isn't going to be replaced i would like to start looking for another.
Until then i'm stuck with a crappy 3yr old nokia as a loaner phone. Oh well, guess its good i at least have one... Thank you.

Putting ring tones doesn't void warranty if you use the right program (MPT) but Flash/Flexing is what really voids your warranty.

Thought I would post a response to this thread. I've finally got my phone back today.. heres' what the response sheet said:
Problem Found: Turn On or Off - No Turn On
Action Performed: Replace Phone - Unable to Diagonse
So I got a new phone... My question is now, should I putz with putting ringtones and graphics on?
Thanks to all that helped!!
