cmsOdw,

I think incompetence is common practice with a great deal of T-Mobile staff members. A staff member recently entered me into a contract after I called to add more minutes to my phone. The customer service rep did not say anything about adding minutes would require a new contract. I found out when I called to cancel services. I was told that I was under contract and it would cost me $200.00 to cancel. The rep was very unprofessional. I asked to speak to a manager and she stated, “A manager will tell you the same thing.” I was disgusted by her lack of skills. I would have never said that to an upset customer.

The manager called me back the next day and I was more disgusted by her lack of people skills. I told her that the customer service rep I spoke with did not inform me that increasing my minutes would result in a plan renewal. She insisted that I agreed to it, as if she was there on the phone listening to the conversation. Finally, I asked her to go back and check the call since all the calls are recorded and she flat out said no. I was shocked by how unprofessional the manger behaved.
She spoke to me very blunt and nasty. Finally, I told her to have her boss call me. Although, I will probably be treated the same; however, at least I can say I tried to settle the matter. I am definitely going to fight the charges. T-Mobile has not heard the last from me.

Be wary about any changes you make to your plan while you are still signed up with an existing plan. My brother is in the same boat and he thinks his contract will be up in Jan but he's got another thing coming. I'm scared stiff to even bring up the notion of changing minutes and other things because the reps that I have spoken with seem like not the most intelligent people.

I ordered a new Samsung T439 couple days ago with one year. Can't wait to throw on some mp3's and try it out. I think I got a better deal calling on phone than ordering online, but ordering through T-Mobile cust service felt like playing russian roulette.

I think the smartest thing you can do is goto websites like Slickdeals where the really smart and savvy shoppers goto post their opinions. They have been through all the tricks and wars with the cell co's and I have learned that if you are under contract, and call customer service, and change something, anything, you have to make sure they won't sign you up for a new 2 yr agreement.

before you sign up with any CELLPHONE CARRIER check the damn coverage map where you are located or where you're most at.and yeah tmobile has one of the BEST rate plans but not really much cool devices.all of the damn cellphone carriers has problems and none of them are perfect.of course i understand you paying for a service that you probably not getting sometimes but you can always get some type of credit to the account.now in that issue some of the customer go WAYYY over board on wanting to get credits.don't even think about it because sometimes we can tell that your lying.and also if you really listen to the automated system or when they tell you "this call MAYBE recorded for quality assurance" so for the SLOW people out there NOT ALL CALLS ARE RECORDED! no we can't pull it up and let you listen to it!also tmobile is the BEST customer service so get it str8 6 years strong! lol but hey say what you want to say it a free world.but you know i am with tmobile because WE STICK TOGETHER! wow corny but hey it the truth whether you like it or not.i think all customer service rep probably feel this! AMEN!

I agree T-Mobile is aweful. If you ever need to talk to customer service you'll find that it isn't worth the few extra pennies you save to have to deal with TMobile customer service.
I sent a phone to them and even though i have the UPS tracking number they claim they never recieved the $300 phone.
THe rest of my family has Verizon and they get what they pay for, great phones, great service and wonderful family plan that serves our family beautifuly.

"so for the SLOW people out there NOT ALL CALLS ARE RECORDED!"

You are mistaken ALL CALLS ARE RECORED on a National Level that is. FCC mandated that all Service Companys that have Call Centers must recored all calls. Now Recording calls in each call Center are is not required. Now when you hear or told the term "This call may be MONITORED for Quailty or Training purposes.

Recorded and Monitored are completely different things.

Yes all calls are Recored but not all calls are Monitored.

seriously does everyone think that ALL calls are recorded and there just sitting back in some wherehouse waiting to be pulled to play for customers who think that they are being lied to or scammed? Its true SOME calls can be recorded, MOST actually all, but NOT all, The manager probably saw on the notes that you were read a script (i am not saying it DID happen) but it could have, and the script is read to you stating that you accept it.maby she did maby she didnt, but you would have recieved a letter from T-Mobile that you extended your contract. I have not only worked for them for over 5 years but my family has T-Mobile service all over the US and I have yet to hear any issues with them NOT knowing there getting extended.

I have to laugh you tmobile (non) customer service idiots that have responded to the complaints on this board reflect just what the customers are saying. You guys talk like children rather than professionals. Your attitudes come across clearly. If you can't handle complaints why do you work in the field? I have been a T-mobile,voicestream customer for years I have seen a decline in the customer service area. Wake up T-mobile treat your long term customers with respect we are not locked into your company since number portability has arrived.

For god sake, it's a cell. phone, not a life or death issue. I'm surprised nobody's complaining about how their phone isn't doing their laundry & folding it for them, too. I understand some people have to depend on cell. phone service more than others, for whatever the reasons are. That's why there is 14 days grace period. Get a phone, try it out, if you don't like it, then move on to others until you find one that works for you the best. If one company sucks so much, then it should be pretty much uniformed, but it's not. That's why there's so many people claiming to love the service, then there are one's that hate them. There's no one company that will work in every corner of the universe, may be there should be, but there isn't. Somebody told me once that the best cell. phone is the one that works where you are. It may be t-mobile in some cases, it may be sprint in others, or it may be at&t in other places. But not all of them are gonna work in every situation & places. As for customer service issues, if you get a rude one, hang up & try it again. If you get another, then hang up & call fcc or better business or something. There is more than 1 way to skin a cat. If the reasons are ligit, there's a way to solve the problem. It can be frustrating but after all, you signed the contract, it's your responsibility. What's that saying, "ignorance of the law is not an excuse to break'em"? I don't care what anybody tells ya, it's your responsibility to read what the contract says before signing your first born away. Just my opinion.
