I never had a big problem with T-Mobile, but they just charged me 5.99 for T-Zones. Anyone know why they did that? I didn't sign up for it either.

To Merely:
As always, it does depend on the phones. Also, did you check the T-Mobile coverage map? Make sure that you have reception there. It also depends on your phone as well. When you said your phone is nice and more expensive, you're referring to your Samsung e315, right? *sigh* I miss that phone. I believe that phone is duo-band? or maybe it was tri-band. But anyway, it doesn't work with 850 frequency. Perhaps your brother's phone might have the 850 mhz band on it, thus it picks up more signal, when roaming. Whereas, the e315 will not pick up the 850 band, resulting in a more limited signal.
--of course, this is just an assumption of the situation.
And Yowe - why don't you go on My Tmobile (login), and then change your plan? I believe you can remove it, if they're charing you for it and you're nto using it.

Thanks Kurisu. I thought it might be something like that, but wasn't sure.
I had the same result with my other phone, so, I am really thinking of getting out of my contract early and going with Verizon. Or maybe Sprint because my dad has a plan where I can get service for $10.00 a month.
Regardless, I will never have anything good to say about T-Mobile as long as I live.

Merely - Well whatever happens, I hope you do get the coverage that you need. I don't work for a cell company, and I hope I never do after reading these forums... Hahaha no offense to anyone that works for T-Mobile or any company.
Just make sure you always check the coverage map. :] And the whole phone thing is an assumption.. the situation that is. I could be wrong.
Good luck. :]

man1234 - the headline is of this topic, not the forum. Also, the headline is an opinion, rather, not a fact.

To the person who said I should do my homework before jumping in, all I have to say is Catherine Zeta Jones would NOT lie to me!
Actually, when I was a member of AOL, after a phone call, I stayed on the line for a promotion. Would it be encyclopedias? A fancy dinner? A fabulous weight loss plan? No, it was an offer for a free cell phone and T-mobile service!
For me? How could this be? My credit was sh*t and I had tried in vain many times to obtain the glamourous device and have the life of a public chatter. (Another topic that should be started. The obnoxious blabbers)
Anyhoo, I thought, what the hey? I'll go for it. Worst case scenario is I am turned down, again.
Well, lo and behold, in 5 days, what arrived in the mail?
My Nokia! It was love at first sight....the rest, is history...history that is still being written.
So thanks for the head's up.
Oh, and for the guy who said T-Mobile does NOT suck, you sir, are wrong.

Im sorry to inform all of you T-Mobile Lovers ( hope there isn't any) but T-Mobile Flat Out sucks. Reception= None. I never get any reception. But my friends Which have U.S. Cellular, ATT, CIngular,Tracfone, etc. They all get full reception. T-mobile sucks and thats why I am switching to ATT Wireless so I can get a free flip phone (LG G4015) and actually be able to use my cell phone. T-Mobile has the best prices.thats it.but your paying for nothing so.ATT/Cingular is a better decesion.
yeah youre an idiot. good job
please go to cingular and pay more for less service
and when your LG breaks, ill see you on the cingular and lg forums stating they suck
You are obviously a paid T-mobile employee or rep.
I switched from Verizon to T-mobile and do you know what skoolsk8ter? (nice typical corporate doosh name phony) Although Verizon is no picnic, I got a dropped call maybe once every other month when I first got the plan, more so during the end. When I switched to t-mobile more than 80% of my calls drop or even fail to dail out becuase of no signal. I didn't even know what a failed call was 'till I got t-mobile's crap $10 motorola phone with 2 second key click latency.
I admitted that my signal strength was always weak in doors even with Verizon, but with T-mobile in broad day light or driving, I drop as many calls as when I'm in doors. To say t-mobile sucks would be redundant, if it wasn an emergency and I had to get to a reliable phone that didn't drop my calls and had a good signal and range I'd BEG on my hands and knees and give money to the nearest person who didn't have a t-mobile service. I Swear it on my life I would - if that mobile call was important to me, I would seriously get some other person's phone or use a land line.
No, T-mobile doesn't SUCK! That would ACTUALLY IMPLY THAT IT WAS USEFUL FOR SOMETHING! Hanging plants on the ceiling or a nice bathtub play thing. No T-MOBILE is a complete and utter JOKE! You see that commercial with the geeks standing outside someone's house with their make shift techno crap to get a signal probably mimicking some 'generic' crappy phone company well that would be T-mobile...
Unfortunately this is the truth and not funny either. I have NEVER in my entire cell phone owning life run into such a horrible ridiculously unreliable weak flimsy flakey dropping calls like bad telemarketers, cellphone carrier that I have ever had. And I have had subscriptions to most of them except for t-mobile until now. I can't wait to get out of this contract and stop borrowing my friends phone for calls or calling from a land line half the time for my serious and important mobile calls. Because MY PHONE calls are NOT important to T-mobile.
Hey Stupid! T-mobile should pay ME to use their phones for free! Oh yeah they ALREADY DO THAT skools8ter! They give me 150 free minutes a month as a pity gift for staying with them!
Go back to corporate screen name school and take pretentiously cool 101 over again.
I hope this is a corporate bitch slap to T-Mobile if you're listening. You're better off spending money on a network that works, rather than stupid txting commercials because eventually people will get the word out DUDE! Sell phones and plans that appeal to power users and not power losers (i.e. please refer to any t-mobile commercial) I hate this company so much I hope is crashes like their phone service.
I look forward to my new set of 150 free useless minutes next month DEEEUDDEE! But first I have to go out and get my case of silly string!
This in no way is a promotion for Verizon, their coverage is horrible in NJ and the screwed up our contracts so many times and maliciously as well. I'm waiting to see what cingular has a year from now because I wouldn't go back to either. Verizon's coverage and network has degraded very badly over the past 6 years.
And the commercial for Verizon wireless promotes their 'people' network and shows tons and tons of people who support this network. Their internet service is top notch. But as far as the telephone commercial and service, it should just say "We have more idiots than you do". Statistically speaking I am actually correct.

I am glad to see that more and more people are catching on to the aberrance of this carrier. It is also interesting to see the reps wiggle and squirm when they find themselves thrown to the wolves during litigation by the very company they work for. Says a lot for the integrity of the corporation.
