Seems as though the assistant in the phone retailer was stringing me along after all. After making promises of how stock was being delivered, and that I'd be kept up to date on the situation, nothing of the sort happenned. Today was the last day I could cancel. And that's exactly what I did.
The assistant (a different one) was even willing to pay me money to stay on the Vodaphone network. Even using scare tactics like my credit rating will be screwed, and that I'd put her into an awkward situation. As if I was at fault. All she succeeded in doing was sounding pretentious.
Anyway, after the problems I encountered initially setting up the account, and the promises not being fulfilled, I will not be going back to that particular shop. No way. And after the crap that Vodaphone have done to the T610, I'll be looking into a T-Mobile or Orange based SE tomorrow.

huh ? i dont get it?
but im from Australia, does that mean i have to send my phone overseas?
and how much would all this cost including shipping fees?
also, if they're gonna flash my mobile, i'de might as well do it here in Australia, i told them i want the generic sonyericsson software in it.
they said it may stuff up your phone, (and u pay AU$33).
so i got scared, since she said dont hold us reliable if your phone doesnt turn on after we load the generic software in it.

HI!
I´ve just e-mailed a magazine in Sweden called 'Mobile' about the subject.
I urged them to write an article about this problem with precustomized Vodaphone Live! phones and maybe, if they print the article, Vodaphone will take the critisizm and do something to let people who have bought such a phone to 'uncustomize' it.

hey chief, i'm a technology writer so send me some editor's emails and i will try to get a gig writing this one up, as i am one of you, someone else stuck with crappy vodaphone firmware, if that is really what it is. there must be a way from the firmware end of it to lock themes and prevent images from being deleted? i want to expose the whole story, from the crazy bluetooth scam to locked/unlocked phones to provider branding of consumer electronics.
in the vodaphone case, we bought these phones and have a right to turn that junk off if we want to. or perhaps there should be regulations that prevent these phones from being sold the way they are. and also, there should be peace and harmony all over the world...mandatory.
