you are not screwed I have a V265 with Verizon and I went onto VZW Ring Tones which are all MP3's on Get it Now and I just told it to download and it did. I have 2 MP3 ringtones right now on my phone which sound very very good. Good luck!

hey guys,
i am new here. found this site when i decided i wanted my own ringtones. anyway, after reading for a couple hours, i was able to send myself custom ringtones.
the "walmart" sound clips work too!
anyway,
using "goldwave" i took 25 seconds of van halen's jump and saved it at 44khz 80br/s stereo mp3. i also did a fade in and fade out effect to the file.
the size came out to about 228k.
i then simply renamed it "jump.mid"
i emailed it to my number at vzwpics and waited for it to show up.
one thing i found out is that it takes several minutes to get the file. if after 5 minutes you do not get it, then it was too big.
hope this helps. i know this same thing has been posted over and over again, but thoguht i would.

so, has anyone been successful with uploading mp3 ringtones while on the Alltel Service? I have seen alot of Verizon users successful with their V265 on Verizon, but since I am on the Alltel service with a V265 phone, I am not having any luck.
It seems like I have all the programs needed, Celltel usb data cable, MPT, Audacity, Sound Forge and a bunch of MP3's. But my phone sees that the file is corrupt.
Any help would be much appreciated.

P.S. everything else in MPT's works I can transfer pictures fine and also midi but not MP3s, and thats the only reason I got this...rrrrrr
