So...let me see if I have this right. I take an mp3 or part of one and convert it to a midi and then email it my phone. Once on my phone do I need to convert it back or it is good to go?

Go to walmart.com then to music section search for favorite artist or song then it will if you want play a 30 sec clip for you. All you have to do is right click on song you want then click "save as target" then rename whatever.mid. Then use your email and send it to your phone using area code number@vzwpix.com. Once it arrives play it save it as ringtone and whala it is now a ringtone. Still mp3 but works around verizon filter.

Ok...step by step on what I do. Take it where you will.
1. Start with a 300k (or less) MP3 file. I use Goldwave to chop up MP3s, optimize them, and adjust the EQ to minimize excess bass. I'm sure you can do this with any number of programs, that's just what I use.
2. rename the file from example.mp3 to example.mid. Windows will take care of the details, and all you have to do is say "yes, I really do want to change the extension."
3. Use Mozilla Thunderbird to send the .mid file to **********@vzwpix.com, where "**etc" is your phone number.
4. Receive the file (it may take a few minutes or so) and save the .mid file to your phone. You can also set it as a ring tone at the same time if you want to. You don't have to convert anything.
Good luck.

I have been doing the "walmart" way, but I can't seem to email these files to my phone. It worked about 2 weeks ago, but I can't seem to have to work again.
