I just tried to change an mp3 to a mid but with that extention I can't even play it through WinAmp to see if it worked all right. Is there another format that this will work in or will it be playable once it gets to the phone.

Is it absoultely necessary that you change the extension to .mid. Can you keep it a mp3 if you keep the file under 30 seconds? I ask because I went to the Walmart site and the songs that I want they don't play the right part of the song that I am after...I do have sound forge but it will not convert to mid and if I change it myself it won't play at all...

Last stupid question...I promise. I got the Walmart thing to work...but can I change the name of the file once it is on the phone or do I have to do that before I mail it?

http://mms.mobileworld.ro/us/polyphonic_ringtones.php You don't have to send it. Just click on a tone and if you are using DAP you can download the tone.

Okay...I got the tones to work so thanks for all your help. I was wanting to delete some of the ringtones that came with it to free up some space but I can't find the function to do that...

you can upload mp3 ringtones at 3gupload.com with their Personal Files tool. It will send the file to you as a pix message and even trim the mp3 for you if you want.
Some verizon phones (LG) support qcp and 3gupload will convert the mp3 you upload to qcp for you.

Go to walmart.com then to music section search for favorite artist or song then it will if you want play a 30 sec clip for you. All you have to do is right click on song you want then click "save as target" then rename whatever.mid. Then use your email and send it to your phone using area code number@vzwpix.com. Once it arrives play it save it as ringtone and whala it is now a ringtone. Still mp3 but works around verizon filter.
