When I swap my SIM from my Treo 600 to an unlocked Samsung s307 (originally a Cingular). I receive a text message every two hours. I assume its some t-mobile system message being mis-understood by the 307. If anyone can explain or has a fix- let me know.

I too am having this problem and also switched from a Treo. Have tried calling the service provider but they can't figure it out (AT&T). Did you get it solved and if so, how?

No, I haven't solved it, but I haven't really tried since I've been using the Treo most of the time. It is interesting that you're having the same trouble with AT&T. My provider is T-Mobile. Are you using a Samsung S307? It's made specifically for Cingular and I would be surprised that you have this problem on the Cingular/AT&T network. Is the message from the same number as the one in my original post?
Anyone else with this problem?

Sorry, not at my desk where I can check the text message code if we have it to see where the origin is, you can delete all of the text messages that you have in your inbox, outbox or received messages box, power off and back on the handset to see if this will stop the text messages but if someone is sending them to you instead of just a systems-generated text message that you keep getting it probably won’t stop it

power cycle your phone, which means turning it off than turning it back on again, if that does not work. call customer care and they should be able to fix the situation. there are many things that could be going on with your phone. it could be your SMS settings being different.
MY advice call customer care from your landline phone or a friend's phone and have your phone ready to be worked on.
Good luck

I too am having the same problem. I swaped by SIM card from my Motorola Razr into my Treo 650. I then put it back into the Razr and have been getting the //SCK2a text message every two hours. First Cingular tried to send a new cinglar/power cycle to the phone...that didn't work...then they told me to get a new SIM card...that didn't work. Now they are saying i need to change my phone number or block ALL text message...neither of which is a viable solution. HELP!!!! there has to be a better solution

If the from field is +16977 or whatever it is. Go to tmobile.com and enter your online account. Go to communication tools. Go to create keyword and spam filters on the right hand side. It will then give you the option to create a filter. If from field contains +16977 do not send and do not forward to handset. Done....no more messages.

Here is a blow by blow description of my conversations with Cingular about this. Bottom line: It just stopped about 2 weeks after I got the phone.
I get the following message (only the time/date changes) every two hours since I changed from the Treo 600 to the Motorola V551.
From: 98100000

Every time they said it was just someone text messaging me and that I must have signed up for something. This is unlikely for the following reasons:
* I do not remember signing up for anything
* If I did why would I sign up for something that sends garbage every 2 hours?
* I'm sure VP at my company did not sign up for the same thing as me
* I noticed others had the same problem a few times
* It never happened on my Treo (same number and sim)
More likely this was something sent by the service which the motorola does not understand and thinks it is a text message.
11/14 11:00 -
talked to someone who had me take out the battery and the sim for 1 minute then put it all back together. They said to see if that fixed the problem. It did not.
11/14 afternoon
Talked to someone who had me turn off the phone, then call a number.
They had two poor (in my opinion) solutions (really work arounds). First was to block all text messages (taking away functionality) and second was to get a new phone number (the one everyone has for me).
They suggested I take out the sim out of the motorola and put it back into the Treo and see if I get the problem. I did that over night and the problem did not happen in the Treo. I got a message at 4PM on My motorola. I had it in the Treo after that and then put it back into the motorola around 7:00 and I got another message at 7:26.
They suggested in this case (not happening in the Treo) to do a master reset
Menu=>Settings=>Initial=> Master reset (6 zeros password)
I did this @ 8:15 11/15/05
I still received a text message @ 9:26 and every two hours after that
There next suggestion was to get a new phone (buyer's remorse - up to 30 days). VP @ Co had a similar problem and it went away after a couple of weeks.
11/16 15:30 -
Explained how I tried all the suggestions and also that this happened to a VP at my office (two weeks later it stopped).
Tech rep said text messaging was not set up on the Treo. They said my Treo was set up primarily a data device and could not do text messaging (although this is not true. I had done text messaging on my Treo)
They said I would have to try a new phone (buyers remorse), but I was not authorized to ask for a new phone. When I asked who was authorized they would not tell me, but I should try HR. (I knew exactly who to see, but I wanted to hear what they would say)
11/18
Text messages stopped
