I just got a v220 from cingular the other day. When I try replacing the seem nothing happens everything is exactly the same. There is no change what-so-ever I've done other things so I know how to upload and all that stuff, but I don't know why it won't work. My date doesn't display in the corner either I don't know if that makes a difference.
::EDIT:: I got it working but I had to hex edit offset 74 bit 4 to one then the date dispayed and I could get it off then.

I have a v220 also and I tried using p2kman, xvi32, motorola tool, and MPT... The only think that's changed is that now MPT won't let me access the phone anymore (says it's missing the driver) and both xvi/motorola tool say they can't read 0032_0001.seem anymore. How do I go about getting a stock seem, and starting over?

Ok, I just waited about 10 minutes and tried again, now xvi/moto tool are reading the seem file and editing it just fine. Still not changing anything in the phone though. MPT is no longer asking for a driver, it's just installing then telling me it won't work without a mobile phone installed. I feel like a doof I don't get why the phone will work one second, then stop, then work again, then develope some new problem. I need some major help.

I have followed your steps and when my 551 reboots, the cingular is gone until the signal bars come up and then the provider name is back. What am I doing wrong. It got rid of the "be safe be curtious" when the phone turns back on though.
