How to remove internal carrier logo
Note: Not all provider's will work.
Backup!
Items needed:
usb data cable
Motorola Tool & xvi32
(motorola, software, motorola tool)
P2kman

Begin
Use P2kman to download 0032_0001 seem
Run motorola tool
Select 0032_0001
Uncheck provider tag under miscellaneous
Click on tools, modify bit setting
Input 4b and click seek
Check bit 6
Click ok
Click save seem file
Upload seem back to phone with p2kman
Reboot
Note: Once you upload the seem back to the phone, your date will be slighty offsetted to the left. Thus, you will not have the option to center it as that option will be gone.
If this bothers you, you can go on to the next step and remove the date all together.
Remove Date
Download 01a8_0001 seem with p2kman
Run xvi32 and change offset 1 from 00 to 20
Upload seem back to phone
Reboot

I tried this on my v551 and just as you stated after removing the provider logo, which is Cingular in my case the date moved all the way over to the left. After I went back and removed the date, it left a black bar across the screen in the area where the date used to be. Is there any way around this?

It happened to me as well. Make sure the offset was correctly marked. Reverse the process and redo again for the date.

How would I reverse this if I didn't like it?
Also can I put my own text there insteat of the carrier text?
Thanks

Just reverse the steps.
You can replace your own text over the cingular logo; however, you can replace your own text over the date.

This worked great on my V600. It centred the date display.

I was able to modify my v180 so that it removed the T-Mobile text, however it replaced it with the date. This is fine as it is not otherwise shown and it centered fine. However, once I did this, my custom settings for the Home Screen keys no longer worked. When I go to the personalize screen, my custom settings are still reflected but do not work. I was able to get it back to the way it was by restoring the original seem, but would still like to get rid of the T-Mobile text and retain my customized Home Screen Key settings.
Help...
