guys im in a bit of a mess. I have the same problem wit hthe ring tones . I have tried to deleat the temptone.db and mytone.db and restart it still deosnt work?. So i tried a master reset and a master clear and still the same ?. When I go into the ring styles i can change the style but then when i try the details button it kicks me back ?.
This meand the fhone flashes but no t ring ? please guys any ideas ?

Have yiou got the back up ? try to load back one at the time to see with one messed you up.

old fool thanks for the reply. Thats a great idea . I wish i had thought to back up before I wiped looks like i might have a great paper weight .

what would happen if i backed up someone elses ring tones to my computer and put them back 1 by 1 would this be the same as if i had backed up mine ?

Won't hurt any thing infact is may work cuase they were all stock tones and pic yes i say go for it, smart man

Yes that will work just be sure that the persons phone is the same as yours. Model I mean. And btw you might wanna use PST for the backup. If you do it with something else then its going to take awhile. Just load a new M-Services Back-Up file and read their phone. Plug your phone in and once its loaded write it. Once thats done set all the ringers and alerts to silent. Then you can delete all those ringtones that you had to back up.

guys thanks for all the info . I sat up late last night and filled the memory up with a load of ring tones till it would take no more lol. I deleated 3 tones and then a restart . Removed the tmp tone and then restarted . still the same done a reset and all the tones i added went . But the option came back lol .
So looks like i am sorted out now. God knows what happened to it but it seems to be ok now .

Removing mytemp.db & temptone.db files & master reset should have worked. I guess it is one of those 'Why?' question. I am glad it is back to normal for you.

Ya congrats now you don't have to do a back-up from someone elses phone. But still a reminder to keep your phone files backed-up often.

cheers guys thanks is there a guide on how to back up the v600 and what it can back up? sorry to be thick but I am a Nokia convert lol
