The cable I use with no problems is the one that came with my Tungsten E Palm.

Just keep in mind the V220 doesn't run on the data cable it runs on mini USB cable. Try swinging to your provider and get one. Anywhere and maybe even a booth although I don't recommend the booth because they most likely wont have it.

you don't need a motorola cable. That's just so they can make a few bucks. I use my mini usb cable that came with my sony net md mini disc player, which I also use for my portable mp3 player and it works. Your problem may be this. Is the usb cable plugged directly into the usb port in your computer, or is it attached to a usb hub? If it's attached to a hub or a usb connection on your keyboard, it won't work. It has to be plugged directly to the usb port on your computer.

Newer computers dont need hubs they got usually 2-4 in the back and 2 in the front I love having usb right there for thumb drives or quick things like the data cable. But the main reason I prefer to buy name brand cables is theres less conflict because that cable has a 100% guarantee to work on the phones it says it will work on.
