bitpim works great for my ringtones and wallpapaers, but it wont work with my phonebook, and the calendar is "grayed out" as if it is not an option. Also is there any way get your video from your VX7000 to your computer via the data cable. video is not an option in bitpim. thanks dustin

I have used bitpim for the phonebook, the ringtones and the photos, but I haven't found the 'video' section yet. My guess would be that it's not built in to this version of the software. If I am not mistaken, this is the first LG phone that uses the video messaging, so it might require a different driver or additional programming to recognize the video folder. I bet it will be supported in future releases.

well, i just read on the "BitPim" site that you can get the video off the vx7000, im still scanning the site now to find out hom, but heres what i got so far....."The videos taken by the phone use MPEG 4 for the video and Qualcomm's proprietary PureVoice format for the audio. Most media players have no problem with the video but won't know how to do the audio. Apple's QuickTime software (even on Windows) does understand the PureVoice format so you can use it to listen to the video as well."

What you have there is that the video format is compatible with PC's and Mac's. It doesn't say that it will import the video from the phone. When I asked the question, I was directed to this page:
http://bitpim.sourceforge.net/testhelp/faq-phonefeaturessupport.htm
Basically, it said: It is our intention to support every feature of every phone. The features and phones supported depend on access to the phones, developer priorities, information and time available. There is no formal plan, so the answer is "whenever a developer gets round to it". If you would like it sooner than that then help.
So, I think we are pretty safe in saying that as soon as someone writes the code into BITPIM, we will have an update posted and can do our calendars and video uploads.
Hope that helps!

So does the Qualcomm version let you export the video to the PC? That's the trick for this one, the video is in standard Mpeg-4 (Quicktime) format so viewing it is not an issue. The problem is getting the video clips out of the phone and on to the computer. Anyone that has the free verison of Quicktime can view them, but the only way to get them out - that I have seen - is to either memory hack the phone, which voids the waranty or to email them via Pix Message.
I would be most interested to hear how this one turns out though. Keep us posted!
PS: The SCUM site is quite cool - very worth while and I am sure it will grow quickly with the support of the 8000 when it really hits.
