I have looked thru this forum for this question/answer, but have came up with no answers.
I am trying to find out the cheapest solution to listen to the fm radio on my Nokia 6230.
Here are the solutions I have found so far -
1. Buy the nokia recommended headset - HDS3 $30 or the soon to be released HS-8 $40, can be found under Nokia accesories - http://www.nokiausa.com/nokia_accessories/6230/1,2224,50,00.html
2. Buy a adapter to use with standard headphones (2.5mm jack)- http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_ID=153843 , but in one of the other posts it was said that it will not work because the nokia versions provides the antenna
I have tried to use a bluetooth headset, but it will only work for calls and mp3's, still not with radio - and using speakerphone with raido is not working either.
Please any other recomedations to get this to work or what has been found helpful?
Thanks,
Dustin

The HDS-3 is normally included in the phones package, so I don't see where the problem is.
Bluetooth won't work because the phone needs the cable of the headphone as antenna.
The adapter is a nice solution for listening to mp3s, but if the radio can be used, I won't bet on it. BTW: 2,5mm jack is not the normal size, it's 3,5mm.
On eBay you can get the original HDS-3 for less than 5 $ most times.

I purchased my phone new through my cellular provider (Cingular), some of the reps said it would be coming with a headset, but when I recivied my phone it didn't not come with one. On the box it came with it said that headset was not included, so I assumed the reps were mistaken.
Should I push them to send me one or contact Nokia directly?

I would ask Cingular why there wasn't one included.
You've been told one is included and it is normally, but yours didn't.
I would complain, I was promised something but didn't receive it and bought the phone on false informations by reps. Actually this is a reason to cancel the contract normally.
