Well i just tried this today. It totally worked. I have 6 months left on my 2 year agreement. And told them i was moving to texas, so i found a small town called Eagar. I also told them i was out there a week ago and had no service. "And before i went out to Eagar i had called sprint and the person i talked to said that i could have my early termination waived if their was no service out there". They couldn't even find it on their map. So as of right now im a free agent
i just wanted to know what are the surrounding cities for Eagar, texas

SO I CALLED AND TOLD SPRINT THAT I AM NOT GETTING SERVICE IN MY HOUSE AND THEY PUT IN A TROUBLE TICKET. ONE WEEK LATER STILL NO HELP AND I AM FED UP OF IT. I HAVE TO GO OUTSIDE TO MAKE AND RECIEVE CALLS. THEY SAID "SORRY BUT YOU ARE STILL BOUND TO YOUR TERMINATION FEES." WHAT ELSE CAN I DO? I JUST ORDERED ANOTHER CELLULAR PHONE WITH ANOTHER PROVIDER THAT I KNOW WORKS BUT I DON'T WANT TO PAY A TERMINATION FEE.
ANY IDEAS? I LIKE THE MOVING TO TEXAS IDEA AND I COULD EASILY USE THE FACT OF MOVING TO VANCOVER, CANADA SINCE I HAVE PEOPLE THAT I KNOW THAT LIVE THERE BUT MY ISSUE IS THAT I WANT TO PORT MY NUMBER OVER.

i have 2 nextel phones(my wifes and mine) i been having problems ever since sprint merg with nextel. i called them about 2 weeks ago to tell them i have no service in certin areas and many drop calls. they put in a network ticket to look into the problem and a week later they told me they can't fix it. so i ask to be let out of my contract because they can't provide proper service that i agree to. they told me there will be a $200.00 termination fee. i was mad as hell. i told them why should i pay a fee for bad service that you provide. they told me there is nothing they can do. is there a law from the fcc that states if the company get provide proper service they must let the costumer out of the contract?
please help

I've been having issues with Sprint recently, too, and would like to be let out of my contract. I have been roaming for hours at a time. I live in an area where Sprint has coverage, so why am I roaming?
From what I've read, if Sprint claims to have coverage then you're stuck with an ETF. If you happen to live in a hole, then you're still stuck with your ETF. How is that fair?

Hi Everyone, if youavoid the termination fee by saying you are leaving the country will you be able to keep your number or do they stay with it since your leaving?....What if you come back and want to use a different provider?
Thank You in advance

as probably mentioned you have to have a reason and "prove it" you might have to send a proof of residence etc. if you move to a dead area/out of country etc.

I need help avoiding my early termination fee. I was reading that i can do something to get it cancelled. But if I "forget to pay my bill" then pay it off when they cancel my account, will I be able to keep my phone number if I switch to another carrier?

Sorry your line has to be active to "port it" to another carrier.....Sometimes, ( re: ETF, it will work if you change your address over the phone to an area where you know there is not coverage with a provider) you can always pay the bill thru the automated system...that way if you get a rep on phone who just ck's your current billing addr for coverage and see's there is none, they may go ahead and waive the ETF...Just a thought....Boils down to the rep you get and if they decide to follow the company policy of providing "proof" of your new address.. Luck of the draw!

yeah unfortunately if you are tryingt to port a number over then you would not be able to use the "moving" escuse. cell companies when porting numbers from one to the other do contact eachother to verify all the information of the accounts to make the transition from one company to the other. so as far as getting out of your ETF you could just chose not to pay it... depending on how much it is and how many times you havent payed your bill it may not affect your credit... but be forwarned if you do this and at any point in time decide to return to sprint they will run your credit again and see that you had a "write off ballence" you could then pay that off to re establish service up to 3 months after your ballence eventually gets paid off! just some information i thought i might help ya with
