And specially what i would like say is snapping pictures in a public place would turn illegal only when a person without his/her consent is the main subject of the snap. But it wouldn't be such if it was only a background. lf you are are going to be snapning a showcase and in the background happens to be a person then the snap should only be contain the main subject mainly. The person would turn to be a background element(object) which would make the picture completed snap. So it just turns to be our motive which makes it legal or illegal isnn't? but in sri lanka we should be aware in what we are doing. Bye,

Just to be difficult........
How far could they take it? So if its illegal to snap anyone (without consent) if their to be the main subject in the picture, even in public, then that would stop people snapping photos in the park, at a football game (either local or international), using camcorders at their kids school play. BUT it would be fine if you took a picture of your friend stood infront of a topless woman on the beach, because he is the main subject, and has given consent.
Makes you wonder who makes these rules up.

Hi, As we are concerned that taking snaps of a person without his permission turns to be illegal. So the phones inline from sonyericsson are going to strictly adhere to these standards. Any person who could show his concernity towards "creating a firmware to break the law would be a great one." Lucky me. Since in p800 thats available. BYE, |
hey how do we off in p800 ....thnkyou

Due to local market requirements the mute of the camera shutter is possible to enable / disable when the phone is being produced. This should have been the implementation from launch but there was a bug in the signaling software not allowing it to be customized and thereby all units could have the camera sound muted.
From R2L software the bug was fixed, so now the unit (DPY) may not be possible to have the camera sound muted with the new software if this is a requirement for your market.

This is one tough point. But if your snap is going to be dragged into a dilemma then you better be aware. As i quoted before it's going to be our motive. Once i was about to take a snap at a Radio BroadCasting Service Lobby. The Security warned me not to. So this one incident i faced. And specially law is enforced according to the local requirments such as culture.

hi all,
i am new to this forum. i own a SEK500i. i am having a solution to this. i ve tried it and is working for me.
Solution:
1. Call any Toll free number (you can call your service provider's customer care number ie,.Interactive Voice Response number)
2. Without disconnecting the call, run the camera.
3. Enjoy taking pictures. You won't get any shutter sound.
4. Follow the above mentioned steps1 to 3 to shoot pictures secretly.
Enjoy,
Balaji C G
