OK, I've done every guide in here so far, and I keep getting the same error and a neverending "Initializing" screen. Hmmm... is there like a support forum or website for MPT?

Here is some more troubleshoot guide you can tamper with.
Q: Does MPT 3.11h work with the V505? If not, do you have a version of MPT that does work with the V505?
A: MPT does not detect the driver for the v505 but you can manually set it to the v500 driver and it will work. v.3.19 will fully support detecting this phone. There is no ETA when this phonetools version will be out. Open MPT. Once MPT is open press the F6 key on your keyboard. This should open the General Configuration/Setup window. Click on the Communication tab and click the Change Modem button. The Device Configuration Wizard should appear. Click Cancel on the Device detection then click Next when the button becomes active. Highlight Motorola GSM on the left and V500 on the right and click Next, then Finish.
-----------
I played around with these steps myself and I don't think they apply to XP+SP2 because I was getting different choices, but I don't have a v505 so you might want to give them a try.

I do believe we should stick this. This thread may prove very useful to stopping this same question from being asked.

Yea Duceduc that worked perfectly for my V600!!. Thank you very much. I'm not sure if I'll ever buy a Motorola again, but now I can get "Scotty Doesn't Know", from Euro Trip, as my ringtone!

anyway, do we have to do something before unplug the phone? i mean there are no "safe to unplug the phone" icon in the taskbar. is it just close the mpt prog and unplug the phone? thats wat i did today.
also, can mpt allow us to upload pics and ringtones to the phone. i havent fully explore the mpt yet. mayb i ask too soon.

You can upload files from pc to phone. Just drag the pictures or ringers to the appropriate folders.
Just unplug the phone from pc after you are done. It will not harm phone or pc.
