I bought my V3 last week and I went 3 times to the cellphone shop to have the battery replaced.

It was charging yes, but after it drained, it wont charge.

I have a new battery again and it charged ok. Last night the battery was drained. I charged the battery 10 hours and the bars stuck at level 2 only.

I turned it ON this morning 7am and the batteries dead at 10am.

SIGH.

I was so excited getting this fone, It's very popular here in the Philippines but After reading the threads in this forum, I think that Motorola V3 have flaws in its battery and charging system.

Would love some words of wisdom:

Bought my RAZR V3i yesterday - the battery was empty while testing it at the shop, did not notice whether it was charging when it was plugged in or not. On getting it home for the first charge, noticed that it was unable to charge when in use - thought, okay, no big deal. But first question - is it normal that the phone is unable to charge when it is switched on?

In the morning, after a 12 hour charge with some minor interruptions when the phone was turned on (don't know if that affected it) it was still charging - ie had not achieved full charge. However, when unplugged it registered as a full battery on the phone. Seemed dubious, especially with the interruptions, so decided to follow the usual advice, as referred to by Mike10, ie running down the battery until phone turns off, then charging fully again. It only took seven hours of twiddling on and off to deplete it, particularly when using bluetooth. Took out battery, reinserted. Plugged in. Note - totally new phone, plug, etc. "unable to charge" it said. No amount of fiddling or battery wrangling could change its mind.

However, when I turned the phone on attached to the power source and fiddled with it a bit, then turned it off again, after a few tries, it started charging. It's as if the phone needed to remember how to connect to the power source. Or is it just erratic behaviour?

My Razr V3 phone was reflashed with the following settings.
FLASH: R374_G_0E.42.10R.A
FLEX: GSMV3xxT677GD18F
It works fine, but the battery does not want to charge. Can you help please? Fortunately my wife's got a similar phone, BUT I'm tired of charging my battery with her phone. Well.I think she's also tired of me always asking.

My V3 also went through the whole "unable to charge" thing but the way i fixed it was that i purchased the "motorola phone tools" on ebay a while back and i plugged in the usb and opened the program and it started charing. so try that it might work.

Hi,
I've got a Razor that's worked fine for almost two years and suddenly won't charge. I took it to the AT&T store and they said I needed a new battery. i bought it ($50.00). It worked fine until the new battery needed to be charged and now it won't charge. I didn't need a new battery. Maybe my charger stopped working? Anyone else had this problem?

Getting a Razr phone open is easy. Open the back, remove the battery. Place the phone on a stone or concrete pillar exactly 5 feet 2 1/4 inches tall. Acquire a live chicken (hen is preferable although rooster works on occasion). Place the chicken on the ground next to the pillar, with it's left leg secured to the pillar by a rawhide string 13" long. Sing the theme song to "Rocky Three" to the chicken, leaving out all words beginning with the letters N thru Q. The phone will open when you complete the song and release the chicken.

Hope this helps

Sincerely,

Hi, I rebuild and repair about 80 V3s per week

The most common charging problems for Razr:

Charge port dirty.
Clean with a fibre glass pen or an old toothbrush with some alcohol.
Broken charge port.
Battery contacts bent.
Try to bend back into position with tweezers or replace.
Replace or reflow.
PMIC (Power Management IC)
Reflow or replace.(requires reflow gun and microscope, so a job for the solder tech)
