If you had cleaned the mainboard with circuit board cleaner or isopropyl alcohol using a toothbrush making sure to flush under the board's shielding, then used an airline on the board to remove the alcohol. . .
. . .it probably would have been ok.
However, if there was moisture present when you powered it on it's likely that one or more components on the mainboard would have been damaged. If it survived being powered on, then corrosion would have taken place shortly afterwards breaking connections and lifting components.
Try cleaning the charge port with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol. You may get lucky.

I have recently inherited a motorola razr from one of my elder sibblings and have a major problem!
The phone was working beautifully until i accidently let it run out of battery and now it will not charge, or show any sign of doing so. I do not know where the phone was purchased so i cannot take it back.
I have tried charging it over night and taking battery out ect.
Now i have no mobile!

I'm having the same problems as most! My damned razor v3 phone won't charge. I plug the charger in and it says its charging but actually it doesn't and the battery just runs flat! I've just bought a new battery and the same problem occurs. It charges the same via USB so I have no idea what to do. I've thought about buying a cradle to charge the battery externally but it still leaves me without a phone untill its shipped to the UK. I would like to know if there is any other way to charge the battery externally - like via some homemade bodge job for the time being. Can I charge the battery directly by splicing the chargers wires and fixing them to there respective poles on the battery? Any help would be greatly appreciated! HELP NEEDED!

Got Razor V3 as upgrade from verizon about 3 months ago. About 2 months of use, it started to lose battery capacity. Charge indicator showed full charge, but battery would lose power after about 12 to 18 hours. (I only use phone as a telephone, with blue tooth on for hands free when driving). The good folks at Verizon told me the phone and battery were fine, but they replaced them anyway. Warned me not to charge battery for more than 3 hours and only when it was showing 1 bar. Took new one home, after 3 weeks it has the same simptoms. charge indicator shows full charge, but just sitting on my desk in standby mode it dies in 18 hours. After reading all 6 pages of charge problems here, I'm on my way back to verizon. They're dealing with an old retired guy with nothing better to do! (same preformance on car charger).

I bought the razr in Feb 2008, in March of 2008 I was having charging battery. So the obvious thing to do was return to point of purchase and seek their expertise. They recommended try a new battery ...of course simple solution, so off I went a contented customer .
In August of 2008 I was having the problem again, well now this was getting to be a nusiance, because the place I bought it was some 15 to 20 miles away. But I was determined to do the trek again hopefully this time to replace the phone, but my carrier did not offer that option they would send the phone away and have it fixed by the Motorola tech boys.
Well they send it back | Quote: | | Work perfomed: returned unrepaired- liquid Liquid damaged on A2...beyond economical repair |
I called all parties concerned claiming that no liquid was ever in contact with my phone, but of course Motorola does not make or cannot make defective equipment ever so now Im out a phone.
The point of this reply is have a motorloa tech check your phone see what they come up with . As far as I know mine did not ever come into contact with liquid. but then liquid could be moisture on a hot sweaty day and you've just answered a call hmmmmmmmm? They even sent a picture of the damaged part (at my request) Anyways I will not be buying another razr or kazr

Hi,
I got a razr v3 a month ago and have been using it 2 weeks (Ebay and Locus Communications). No problem until yesterday, with no warning, it clicked off in the middle of a call, I must have used up the battery. So I plug it in, and it begins the following cycle: dark screen - flicker blue - flicker dark - flicker blue - instant of Motorola M, instant of "charging battery, second of "Style - Loud" with a red battery flicking in the background, a couple second of "charging battery" again, 5 seconds of darkness, start over. However, nothing is really being charged. I have tried powering off but that doesn't stop the cycle. I tried taking the battery out for a minute, and the chip, but always the same results. - If I unplug it, I get a flicker of light in the keypad and nothing else: there is still no charge in the phone.
What could be wrong here?

Is the system not charging using a travel charger (Plug flips down) or the home charger that came with it?
I have an issue with the travel chargers (Went through 4). I even got a new phone, still a problem. The home charger and two car chargers work fine, just the travel chargers will not work.
