I have a 220K, 14 second MP3 at a bitrate of 128KB, which is part of a cut song that I uploaded to the phone using P2KMan.
I copied / transfered the MyToneDB.db and TempToneDB.db to my computer from the Audio folder, then deleted both files.
Went to settings and used the master reset and was able to choose the new mp3 file as a ringtone.
Perfect and thanks!
Note: I wasn't able to chose the new mp3 until I reset the phone |
I am having similar problems. I have an 11 sec. mp3 that I ran through Audacity at 36 float. I am using mPT to ul to the phone and that works fine. The file shows up in the audio folder. However this is where I go wrong. Everyone says to copy and delete MyToneDB.db and TempToneDB.db. However I can't find those. When I explore the phone all I see is two folders an audio and pictures folders. I don't see any files in either one of those folders that I didn't put there. Some pics I took with the phone and some I ul to the phone. No audio other than the one I sent. When I try to play the mp3 on the sound player it says "corrupt delete?" I tried a master reset and cycled the phone off and back on. Still says the same thing. Any help appreciated. I want to be able to load up the familys phones for the holidays as we all have similar motos.
Thanks
Charlie

If you'r using audacity and transfer thru MPT you don't need to delete those file. just make sure that you have it at 25 second max, 32 floating max, 128 kb max and save it under EXport section under mp3 the chose a folder to put it in and a popup screen come up check the bos that say ID 3V2( more flexable) and you done , just go back and do drag drop to your fone |
Still not working. Says it is corrupt, but when I run it on my computer I hear it no problem. Can't even hear it as a sound played on the phone. Seems easy to drag and drop but phone not recognizing it.
Current score:

I have a program that you are talking about. I am looking for the software for the USB port for the Motorola V220. Would you be willing to trade?

I am using P2KMan and whenever I upload the file to the phone P2KMan says "File upload... Fail: Cannot open file" Why is this happening? I made sure that there are no illegal characters in the name of the song. It is MP3 type and it is only 17 seconds with a bitrate of 128. I have enough space but P2KMan just doesn't like the file. Any ideas?

Hey all,
The p2kman method of deleting both .db's works just fine. Just a time/sanity saving tip. When you delete the .dbs, as long as you have your file copied there, a regular 'Reset Phone' from within p2kman is sufficient to force the phone to rebuild its .dbs. No master reset is necessary, so you can retain your basic settings and make this work.
