Hi,
I am using p2k to upload MP3 ring tones to my moto v220. However once the file gets uploaded to the fone. It can only be used as a MP3 file to listen to. It cannot be used as a ringtone because when I click on the file and set it as a ringtone the fone does not ring and I cannot even access the settings for the ringtones.
Is there a way of transfering MP3 files from my pc to my fone in usable ringtone format. I cannot find any working links out there for such programs.
Hoping for a positive response on this issue.
Thanks in advance

AUDACITY is one of the program allow you to cut your mp3 to 25 second and brirate at 128 or lower and save them in exprot mp3 so that you can use MPT to upload it in.

Do a master reset on the phone. If that don't work, delete mytone.db & temptone.db using p2kman, & a master reset.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the prompt response. I have tried to use auducity to cut my mp3 file.
As far as master rest is concered it bring the phone back into the normal state.
The problem as it stands it that I cannot upload MP3s using p2kman anything I upload using p2kman including midi and stuff is not able to function as a ringtone. I can only hear the music in media player but I cannot set these files actively as ringtones. So I do think master reset does the trick. Perhaps it has gotta do with the attributes of the file after it gets sent usingp2kman or something.
So let me know if there are any further suggestions that I can try. To day Im able to cut short my mp3 and transfer it to the phone using p2k but cannot use these files as ringtones since it does not let me set them as ringtones.
thanks in advance

duceduc seems to have nailed it.
I have a 220K, 14 second MP3 at a bitrate of 128KB, which is part of a cut song that I uploaded to the phone using P2KMan.
I copied / transfered the MyToneDB.db and TempToneDB.db to my computer from the Audio folder, then deleted both files.
Went to settings and used the master reset and was able to choose the new mp3 file as a ringtone.
Perfect and thanks!
Note: I wasn't able to chose the new mp3 until I reset the phone

But if you do a master reset won't you loose all your info like contacts, datebook, other pics? May be a newbie question but I haven't seen a glossary arround.

I am having similar problems. I have an 11 sec. mp3 that I ran through Audacity at 36 float. I am using mPT to ul to the phone and that works fine. The file shows up in the audio folder. However this is where I go wrong. Everyone says to copy and delete MyToneDB.db and TempToneDB.db. However I can't find those. When I explore the phone all I see is two folders an audio and pictures folders. I don't see any files in either one of those folders that I didn't put there. Some pics I took with the phone and some I ul to the phone. No audio other than the one I sent. When I try to play the mp3 on the sound player it says "corrupt delete?" I tried a master reset and cycled the phone off and back on. Still says the same thing. Any help appreciated. I want to be able to load up the familys phones for the holidays as we all have similar motos.
Thanks
Charlie

If you'r using audacity and transfer thru MPT you don't need to delete those file. just make sure that you have it at 25 second max, 32 floating max, 128 kb max and save it under EXport section under mp3 the chose a folder to put it in and a popup screen come up check the bos that say ID 3V2( more flexable) and you done , just go back and do drag drop to your fone
