the "found new hardware" wizard opens up and asks me to install the drivers or whatever it is going on about for my motorola V360 too.
btw, i have been plugging my phone into the same USB slot ever since i have gotten MPT, so yeah, confusion FTW? |

If its a V3t you should just copy to the memory card. Go to games and apps and install new

indianenvasion you are the man/woman! Your step-by-step advice worked a treat for me - after a whole lot of time cursing Motorola for not making the process easy to do you have restored my faith in humanity. OK, maybe that's an exaggeration, you've restored my faith in certain very small segments of humanity but thanks anyway!

Hi everyone,
I was following the tutorial here, and enabled the Java App Loader on my V3i with no trouble. Then I closed PST, disconnected the USB cable, and turned the phone on. Java App Loader was enabled, and said "Insert Cable Now". So I did, and then the strangest thing happened. The phone was recognized and then unrecognized 4 times very quickly (indicated by my ring tone changing from Vibe to Loud and the battery indicator flashing and not flashing over and over), and then it stopped. In the end, the battery was charging, but the screen still prompted for the cable to be inserted. I repeated this process 3 times with the exact same results.
I suspect this has something to do with the way Windows is recognizing USB devices on my machine. A few months ago, every time I plugged in my phone to the USB, the systray would pop up, specifically recognizing that a Motorola V3i had been connected. Now, nothing happens except the phone charging and a disk drive showing up in Explorer (which is the flash memory chip). I no longer have the ability to "Safely Remove" it though, as it doesn't show up in that menu in the systray anymore.
I have uninstalled Mobile Phone Tools (not PST). I have also gone through my registry looking for references to the USB modem drivers, and there are lots of them, and still some references to Mobile Phone Tools even after the uninstall. I am wary of deleting registry items, though, so I thought I'd come here.
Anyone have any idea how I can get Java App Loader to work properly and possibly also restore normal behavior to Windows' handling of my phone through USB?
Thanks! Sorry for the long post.
