Hi guys,

I got an i860 and am having some trouble with it. I read the manual thirty times, but there is no mention anywhere of how to upload or download images, MP3, MIDI, etc. I'd hate to use their service and incur costs every time I want to move a pic from the camera to the computer.

There seems to be some PC software for this on their site, but the phone didn't include a data cable. Where can I buy it and how much should I expect to pay? I'd rather buy it from a local store than over the net. Any idea which stores are likely to carry such an item? Is that all I will need?

P.S. As an aside, is there any way to make the camera not click when taking a photo? I put the phone in silent mode and it still clicks.

Thanks in advance! Great forum you guys have here. icon_smile.gif

Data cable is about $20 local store like radio shak, best buy, but ebay is less than$10, your choice.
Don't know if your fone is much defferent than mine but there should be a function call shutter tone change that to none. I think you go to media __>camera-->the bar(midle button) then picture setup and you'll see shutter tone

I have the I736 and use the program MyJal to upload ringtones and wallpaper, and a friend of mine said that this also works for the I860. You could try that. I liked the program so much that I paid the $9.95 to keep using it after the trial.

This is the web site to download the software:

Good luck to you and let me know if it works because I just bought the I860 from Nextel and will get it sometime next week. Also, is there a way to get someones picture to show up on the front of the I860 when someone calls you or direct connect you? Thanks for the help.

I too am having problems with downloading even from MyJal. I ordered a data cable from motorola and they sent me a USB data cable. I was not able to use this cable so I then purchased the serial cable of which is not working either. I ordered the trial version of MyJal that I have seen companies using that want to sell ringtones, there seems to be some other software that goes with it because it will not recognize my phone, keep stating phone not connected even thought it is. The phone is recognizing the cable and states "cable attached". But MyJal will not allow me to do anything because it states that my phone is not connected. I have also noticed that there are no ring tone on MyJal as of this time. If this system works I have no problem spending the $9.95 but again I can not get it to work or recognize my Nexet I860 phone. Would appreciate any help I could get. Thanks.
