Yup, I'm another v551 owner with a buggy phone. I have experienced the white screen of death twice in one week. I've also had the clicking with sounds, but that doesn't bug me. BTW the phone is an 'AA phone and not a 'BA. My Cingular dealer where I got the phone only has 'AAs.
The phone is a great phone, without the bugs. But now I have a dilemma. Should I try to get a v551 that works or just downgrade to a v400? Do the v400s have fewer problems? I don't need EDGE, BT, or AOL. I would like a camera, speaker phone and good call quality.
Where I am now is either get a working v551 (might keep getting lemons), get a v400, or go back to the Samsung e317 (good phone, but the sound is so-so).
What do you guys suggest? Anyone have experiences with the v400? Does the white screen on the v551 get worse and is anyone just living with it?
Thanks,
Jim

Im not too sure but I know its something with the production series. AA is like the first set, then BA is kinda the more resolved fixed up versions of the AA.

To see which version of the v551 you have either the bA or AA, you take out the battery and in the upper left corner on the back of the phone there are a bunch of serial numbers followed by either the AA or BA designation.
I just bought my phone from bestbuy and all they had were the AA designations. Hopefully this wont be a problem......
