I've tried Nokia's configuration wizard but I never receive the SMS settings from them.
Does anyone here have a Nokia 6820 from Cingular? Could you help me with the GPRS & WAP settings?

These are the working settings I got from the Cingular rep.
Menu -> Services -> Settings -> Connection Settings -> Active Service Settings
Settings' Name: MEdia Net
Homepage: http://device.home
Proxies: Enable
Primary Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
Port: 80
Secondary Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
Port: 8080
Data Bearer: gprs
Bearer Settings:
GPRS Access Point: wap.cingular
Authentication Type: Secure
Login Type: Automatic
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
(Username and Password must be uppercase)
Bear in mind, you will get a "No Gateway Reply" error if you click the mMode button because it goes to the ATT Wireless homepage (http://home ) which is not accessible on Cingular's network. You have to go to your bookmarks (Services -> Bookmarks) in order to get online.

And here are working dialup settings for Bluetooth / Data Cable internet access:
Phone number: *99#
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM

For Mac OS X users, make sure you turn off Send PPP Echo Packets and Use TCP Header Compression in the PPP Options.
System Preferences -> Network -> Bluetooth (or USB Serial for DKU-5 cables) -> PPP -> PPP Options

The only thing I can't get to work on Cingular is AIM. I haven't heard back from the tech rep about it yet. There is a free J2ME IM program called TipicME, but it doesn't work on the 6820 yet.

I have Nokia 6820 unlocked and migrated from ATT to Cingular.
I have CINGULAR EXPRESS SET UP fine for internet.
When I go to Messages and email setup--I have been unable to setup my Yahoo mail there as I had before via ATT (I only had to change smtp there).
Can someone help me set up Yahoo Mail using Cingular in MESSAGES area and not on WAP Internet area using EDIT ACTIVE EMAIL SETTINGS?
Thank you

i have the same problem, although mines even worse. I can't get Cingular's WAP pages to come up. I migrated from t-mobile prepaid and they locked the phone so hard that i can't even manually change the GPRS connection settings.

It will set up MMS, Email (provided that you are with the right ISP), and GPRS/WAP via sms service...
for almost any phone.
they send you all the settings (via sms) and all you do is punch in a 4 digit pass which they give you, no need for emails and bs like that.
Enjoy
any one who needs a place to unlock a cell in the Boston area for a nominal fee i know a place ICQ/AIM: 163-062-369
Enjoy. Xsevin

I had Nokia send me the settings for a Nokia 6820 the day I got it and the internet worked fine and I also had the Cingular Customer Service Internet Settings like the ones above as well. Both of these settings worked fine for about two weeks and then the internet stopped functioning. I have spent many hours with Cingular trying to figure this out. I have done a few tests to figure out the problem.
Phone:
LG c1300: Locked Cingular Branded Internet DOES Works
Nokia 6800: Unlocked AT&T Internet Does NOT Work
Nokia 6820 : Unlocked AT&T Internet Does NOT Work
Is anyone else having this problem?
Please help!!!

I have a Nokia 6820 unlocked and migrated from ATT to Cingular and the MMS settings are excatly like the ones shown above but when I try to send an MMS I get a message that reads, "multimedia message sendling failed". The internet and SMS however are working fine. Any thoughts?
