I have just got a Samsung V200, is the Screensaver suppose to be slow and jerky, like 1 frame per sec. On the old T100 it runs perfect. Is this correct.

Hi,
Nothing is slow or jerky on my V200. Could be the firmware ou are using. Which one is it ?
+ Not sure what you mean by "screensaver" has the phone got one ? or are we talking opening screens and animations ?

Hi where talking about the animated backgrounds. If you put the butterly one one, on my phone it only moves about once every second, so its like its in slow motion.
I am wondering if its a way to preserve the battery !!!

Hi,
I have just uploaded a .gif animated wall paper which works fine on my T68i, bit as mentioned in earlier posts, it runs very 'jerky' on the v200. Hmmm....

Hi,
I noticed this too.
I called Samsung Support here in the UK and the lady I spoke to didn't know about the problem. I explained that a friend had a T100 and you could see the problem quite clearly if both the V200 and T100 were side-by-side and displaying the Butterfly wallpaper, for example.
She did actually go and get a V200 and T100 and tested them side-by-side while I was on the phone and she could see the problem.
She spoke to her Supervisor and he said it has been reported and Samsung in Korea are working on a fix for this.
The reason is that the T100 has a refresh rate setting for the animated wallpapers, but the V200 had this feature left out, for some strange reason.
Samsung Support were very helpful, but this problem really it quite bad, IMHO. It makes all the Matrix Reloaded wallpapers available for download from the Samsung FunClub site and from Orange, O2 etc. look rubbish as they run so slowly (as well as all the other types of animated wallpapers you can get).
I am quite disappointed really. I am a fan of the Matrix and Samsung's tie-in with the movie swayed me to choose the V200 as my next phone. I was particularly miffed at the omission of any Matrix pictures/wallpapers/ringtones on the phone out-of-the-box, especially after all the TV and Magazine adverts for the phone showing "full screen" pictures and animations of the Matrix Reloaded...even the box it came in was plastered with images of the phone with full screen shots from the film.
Nokia did a similar thing when advertising their first camera phone, the 7650. The adverts showed a "full screen" viewfinder for the camera and picture viewer, which was not the case at all!
All phone companies do it...it really makes me mad that they can get away with showing their products in a false light because the reality of the features of their phones isn't really good enough to show the real deal!
Cheers,
Mazetix...
