Well, trying to learn to play/edit the phone...
I was using pk2man and was trying to get rid of "factory" files... I did make back ups of EVERYTHING...
but I deleted a file and found it wasn't the one I wanted to delete...
so when I went to upload it it went basically into the root directory... and now pk2man will not let me delete it giving me a generic error... also trying to reupload over the file I even gen an error "file size invalid...
its a 123KB MP3 file Moto~~.mp3
What can I do to get ride of this file now?
other software ideas??
Thanks

See what happens when you do alittle searching. You find the answers.
P2kman issue:
Have you tried a couple of times to delete the file? For the files that you cannot delete, what is the attribute number?

70000 type: MP3
files size is showing "0" which I know is incorrect... because total file size showing went back down after I uploaded it (to the wrong dir)
weird thing is is made its own dir "99" under the v220 (/a)
followed by the normal "mobile" directory
many time have I tried to remove this file... reset phone and connection...
sigh... any ideas now?
EDIT: it will not let me change the attributes

If the file's attribute shows '0', it should let you delete it. The V220 is a weird phone to edit so it seems. Many users have complained about issues with mpt, p2kman, etc installs. They either have trouble or like you, conflict after the install.
What is the actually path extension when you u/l the files to your phone?
/a/mobile/???

I used seemeditor to do that... i actually changed my stuff to "09" instead of "08"
it worked now, if you could set a value higher than that, that would awesome... its better but not ANYWHERE near the loudness of my old motorola v60i monocolor tracfone...
next step is trying to remove the service provider name... the only thing I been able to do is remove the name but I still have a date and time stamp.... and that was using motorola Vxxx Mod Tool by xoclipse
and I would love to be rid of the lower start bar (lables for quick keys)... pretty much I just want an image and my signal and battery power meters...
I have also tried adjusting the opening and ending graphics... they worked BUT I still have a static image of the motorola "flower" BEFORE the animated image loads... and for the life of me I can not find that image on the phone using P2KMAN
and duceduc thanks for your time and help

Not in the order from your questions:
You can't remove the moto flower at startup. I have yet to see a hack for it.
Same goes with the time. However, wouldn't you want the time to be on there anyways? Try looking through the xlr8 hack codes. There might be something with the time stamp.
The 08 setting for the speaker is the max anyone should go. For the V600 phones, I set mine to 04 and it is quite loud. I, sometimes, need to lower the speaker volume key.
After you removed the inner logo name, is your date stamp off centered? I believe to remove the date you use would use the same xoclipse software and seem to remove the logo plus offsetting the 4b. Let me know if you still need this to me done.
You are worse than me wanting to remove everything in the homescreen. I thought deleting the logo and date is more than crazy for a phone user?

I forgot which program set everything off centered... but I was wondering how close the programming for the V220 and v600 really is
yeah I don't need the time, it displays on the outter LCD... and I al like 99.9% of the time around a clock anyways, lol
but yeah, I would totally like the "shave" everything off the main screen...
still any idea on how to remove the lower menu bar?
(since I already know my hot keys)
and more specifics on the cingular -> date removal would be great

I have forgotten I did do a how to on removing the logo and date. It was pushed back 8 pages in this forum. I recommend you backup the seem file before saving it. Not sure how similar the V220 and the V600 are.
