Hi
Bought a SE P910i and love the phone. But, having real problems getting MMS set up.
The phone appears to be restricted in some way by Vodaphone so I cannot set up my O2 MMS settings. I have managed to set up the WAP and GPRS settings and can get online to O2 site.
When I try to apply the O2 MMS settings a message appears saying that the file is Read Only and cannot be amended.
Can someone let me know how I go about changing this? Seems weird that I can change everything but that....is there a software patch i can apply?
Thanks

Lo Rob,
have had a lot of these ones recently...
basically Vodafone have branded your handset in the vein attempt you will use it on their network, they have not planned for u to take your services elsewhere...
Unfortunately there is nothing on the handset that will remove this...I dont even think a master reset will solve this, only thing i can suggest is contactting Sony Ericsson directly and asking for details in order for your phone to be taken to a service location a service location may be able to delete the relevant profile from your phone.
You can try contacting sony ericsson's main service location in the UK to see if theres anything they can suggest (01295 662 101)
Hi, The only way you could remove your phone from this dilemma is FLASHING your phone with a none Vodafone Firmware. But this could void your warranty if you have one. And perhaps what was the price you paid for it. Bye,

Thanks for the replies guys. I have ordered an unlocking cable and will download new firmware.
Anyone done that and what should i be aware of before proceeding? Is it straightforward?
Hi, Is it a terminator dongle? then be sure that whether you'll be getting a software CD with all the firmware. And double check whether it has the compatibility with your phone. Then make sure to take a back of your phone so that for some instanfe something goes wrong with flashing the phone could be only a paper weight.

Hi
Got the unlocking cable that connects to serial port on PC, as advertised on another site. Apparently, I download some server software(?) and then download the new firmware direct to the phone..... Is this the best way? Whats a terminator dongle? Do I need one as well as the cable? If there is an error whilst flashing, can I just re-flash?
Thanks for your help

Hi,
Terminator Dongle is an instrument they use for flashing Sonyericsson phones. That was the cheapest. You could do it by your own. So then once your reffering to the Server upgrading system, you could first make a backup of your phone. Unless you could just make your phone your paperweight. So be wise enough to make a back up in any circumstances. The server based flashing would prompt you to purchase credits. But once you've got your Terminator Dongle you just need the file to flash so its almost a one time cost.

Hi Rob,
Any success in resetting your p910i? I'm about to do the same on mine.
