I'm sort've knew to the whole cell phone business, and am looking for a new phone. I have my eyes on a motorola v265 or the kyocera se47. Which phone has better graphics/color, and compared to other Verizon Wireless phones? If there is some sort of list that has a rank of best graphics/color phones, could you please post it? Thanks so much! It would be much appreciated!

[this is based on my owning the v265 for 6 days]
I bought the USB cable and software (motorola mobile phonetools 3.0) but that doesnt allow me to upload or download pictures from the phone. So I cant judge how the camera pictures look on my computer screen. The camera photos look terrible on the phone's color screen. The screen is tiny, and no where near as bright or vibrant as most other new phones. I hope this was a design trade-off for better battery life, not just cheaper components. Outdoors the screen limited viewing angles. I need to experiment with the voice training options, the defaults dont seem to work at all for my North East USA English dialect.
The radio reception in the phone is much better than my Kyocera QCP-6035 Smartphone (Palm Phone) but that phone is 4 years old. Before making a call the phone will display 1X (1X = digital highspeed network) but when I made a call and it connected, it will display A (analog). After ending the call the phone will still display A for a little while, then it will revert to 1X. If I dont want to wait I can just power off the phone and power it back on again. This is annoying, but I suspect it has more to do with my local receiption and whether my cell towers are overloaded. PCS-only phones (the old Sprint phones) dont work in my area at all.

I had the V265 for one day and suddenly the date disappeared from the screen. I took it into Verizon and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. I tried the LG 6100 but signal strength was worse that V265 and couldn't make a call from my house. I now have Cingular and get more bars and can always make calls (V180).
What I didn't like about the V265 was the screen was real small, smaller than even my present V180.

BTW, my daughter has the V551 and that phone really looks great! Excellent reception and great photos! Nice big bright screen and an overall winner in my opinion.

I do realize that the phone has come out very recently, and not that many reviews have been written and people have not been able to realize the glitches and stuff, so I'm a bit wary in buying the phone. I'm read some reviews on other VerizonWireless phones, and they seem to be more reliable than the newly released v265...
I've been looking for reviews on the Motorola v265, and the the main problem is that the screen is too small? How big/small is a 128*128 screen, in inches for instance? I'm not too worried about screen size, because I don't plan to text or take too many pictures..or stare at the screen for a long amount of time. I'll probably head out to the store and see the model phone and decide for myself, I guess.
I'm more concerned with the signal strength, because the obvious reason to get a cell phone is to make calls. I know it's dependent on where you are, but I'm wondering if it's overall great signal strength? Then I don't really care as much about the screen size...

I can tell you that the V265 gets better signal strength than the LG 6100 - about 1 bar better in my experience.

Ok, that's good. I was also looking at that phone, the LG V6100 is pretty much the same as the Motorola v265 except maybe screen size is a bit bigger.

The LG 6100 does have a bigger and brighter screen. I didn't like the side buttons on the LG because they stick out more and like I kind of hit them accidentally. The LG 6100 has a lens cover and flash, neither of which are on the V265.
I like the V265 better for signal strength and navigation, especially for personalizing the home key buttons.

Without a lens cover for the camera, would the lens get scratched up with 'casual' use? I'm not the type of person to throw/smash/crush the phone, but the occasional drop might happen..
I'm assuming that the lens should be somewhat shielded by the phone, I hope it isn't obviously sticking out because it looks like that's the phone I'm about to get..
