My V600 was a Cingular Branded Phone. When I uploaded my Websessions file to the A630 from the V600 the A630 worked 100% for web access and POP email. It however does NOT work with AIM. AIM is hardcoded into the phone to use T-Mobile so I'm out of luck on that one.
Yea AIM will not work on ANY T-Mobile branded phone. It's jsut hard coaded. You can't even download the application and install it on your phone. When it comes to AIM you screwed.
My Wife has told me that she read and article yesterday that says the phone is now going to be released for Cingular in the coming month 1/2. I did not read it myself so this is second hand rumor but she did mention that it was coming very soon.
As for myself I'll purchase it there so she can use AIM and I'll take the T-Mobile one. Honestly as far as phones go she's really given it high marks.
Thats is awsome. Great idea you had to fix the phone. I am gunna email you for help so I can ty it...

As long as you have a truly unlocked phone you only need to put your SIM card in that phone and it would work. Sometimes though you need to change the internet settings to make that work for you while the voice side of the work without any activation involved. I work for Cingular if anyone needs help with ATT or Cingular settings reply to this post I can help.
Unwired I have a Nokia 3620 previously setup for ATT I had it unlocked to switch it over to Cingular I have found some nokia settings for Cingular and tried them it allows me to connect to GPRS but thats as far as I have been able to get if you can find the settings I need for everything IE. internet, email, wap etc email me please and thank you

Hey all, just in case this hasn't been said, Motorola is selling Cingular branded A630 phones so you don't have to worry about hacking in to get the internet working on a T-Mobile one anymore. If you call customer service they give you 10% off and free 2nd day shipping. I just ordered mine and the total cost was $330.00 (I already have service)...

if you read earlier in this thread... I and several others posted setting that *should* work... apparantly thgey dont because the software settings section on your phone dont correspond in a manner that I or other can translate the known ATT settings to the A630...and att does not support that phone because they dont sell it... now you know the trubbles of unlocking a phone...good luck in your quest... if you find a way that works...post it... several others have posted here with the same dillemma

Success!!! I am able to access mmode with the A630 after the modding. the address is http://xlr8.uc/hofo/ At this point i can only get email by going thru the mmode conduit but we are working on a direct connection to either an imap/pop3 server.
