Hey JB, I'd be very interested to know how you got your data transfer set up using IrDa with your L1400. I called LG and they said that they didnt make or support software for IrDa on this phone.
I went ahead and tried to use the software they have for the g4011 but so far I've had no luck. the Ir port recognises the phone, it even knew the model number os something is kinda working but PC Sync and Contents Bank programs won't connect.
I did install the ircomm2k driver (www.ircomm2k.de) and am trying to connect with Com3 but that didnt help either.
I also came across some software for sale made by DataPilot. Has anyone tried it?
I hope someone has figured this out or can provide some help, I'd hate to think I wasted $35 on a USB IrDa adapter that wont talk to my phone.
Thanks,
MjL

He BJ, yes I would like to know how you were able to make your Infrared port on LG L1400 talk to PC. My PC reconizes the Cell phone and even tells me that LG 1400 in the range, but after that there is no communication. Please let me know how you did it.

The software for syncing with Outlook via Infrared can be found at:
http://uk.wowlg.com/uk/phones/h_mnsw_list.jsp?&pages=2 The LG PC SYNC software for the L1000 works for the L1400. I've had trouble using the LG Contents Bank. I got it to send photos from the PC to the Phone, but nothing seems to work in the other direction.
Is there freeware anywhere that will do this? If not, what is the most economical commercial package to tranfer photos from the phone to the PC via infared? I read somewhere that there is a program from LG Brazil that will do this (but in portugese).

I own a L1400 from cingular and had the same problem. I couldn't transfer the pictures to the computer. With this simple program through the usb cable i was able to download the pictures and upload ringtones.
search on google for LG communicator
cheers

When I try to run the setup for that LG 1400 communicator I get an application error. Has anyone else seen that, before they got it to work.
Any help would be great, this thing is killing me.

Try INstalling the lastest version of Microsofts .NET 2.0 Redistrabutable before running that lg1400 communicator program. The link to to can be found on teh downloads page of where that software is hosted. Also the data cable can be purchased anywhere, i got mine off ebay for like 10 bucks or less, also futurdial and datapilot have their own cables also, or the IR port is another options if u can go that route
