Google search for Mp3 cutter/joiner - it is shareware and can crop & convert the bitrate of any mp3. If you already have a 30 second mp3 it can be easily converted to 64 kps using itunes. You can then use a variety of methods (I like 3gupload.com) to get your file into your phone.

U can upload any kind of Mp3 file, no matter the bitrate or the freq.
Just need a little "hacking" in the sounds.dat file, but nothing too complicated.
I'm using QPST and USB cable (the simple one, without the "black box" in the middle.

OK, it does indeed work with the VX6000, as i have been doing it for a long time now... all you need is Nero Burning Rom, mp3s, a data cable, and BitPim. Act as if you are going to compile a CD, and when you are "adding mp3's to the list", right click on the song and select audio editor or something like that. here you can cut up the audio file into 30 secs or so... make sure you select Save As, to not mess up your original file, then there you go! go into bitpim, select add music file, then do the lil convert thing it asks for
send data and your done!

Ok, this thread is way too long but let me end all the MP3 conversion issues for EVERYONE!
Step 1: Go to www.walmart.com and go to the music section.
Step 2: Select the album/artist/song you are looking for.
Step 3: Right click the 'listen now' song sample button and choose 'save target as' from the list.
Step 4: Either way works, but DATA CABLE seems to get better clarity... A) Drag the file into bitpim and transfer to the phone - no editing needed OR B) Email the file to your phone ##########@VZWPIX.COM and save the sound. (standard pix messaging rates apply - this is NOT an IN MESSAGE!)
Ok, there is a simple 4 step program that has been confirmed on the VX6000, 6100 and 7000. I am sure the 8000 is the same as well.
Hope this make this process alot easier!

Ok, so I have a data cable and I cut all the mp3's down to 30 seconds ...
I sent the data to my phone (vx7000) and now I don't know where it went- lol.
Can anyone help me find it? I thought it would just pop up in the ringers section- but it's not there =(
Thanks-
Stacy
