Does anyone know what the best BT headset for the Nokia 6230 is? Reception is what i care about. My old SE BT headset was pretty crappy.

Hiya Dave,
I also have a 6230 - gr8 phone. Bluetooth headset wise i recently found and bought a relatively unknown brand from a UK company. Like u reception for me was high up there in my needs of a headset and this is definately up there. Basically u cant go wrong with it. And for 30 quid - well its definately affordable. www.cellsavers.co.uk
There were other units i considered but i prefer people to look at assets than look at some big ugly BT headset hanging off my ear. Trust me check this one out - its small ... very small.
Hope this helps
Happy Hols

I have been using the Nokia HDW-3 and it's been great. It's my first bluetooth headset, so it could be that there are better ones out there, but for my money, it's everything I could have asked for. Setup with the 6230 was a piece of cake. Just turned it on and the 6230 recognized it. It's been very easy to use, though it does feel a bit heavy on my ear after a while. I certainly wouldn't leave this headset on when I wasn't making a phone call.

In some tests that I have done with distance and audio quality, it seems that the phone is the limiting factor, and not the BT headset. At least it was in my setup.
I compared the ear piece sound quality with the headset connected to my phone and connected to my PC's Bluetooth dongle. With the phone, the reception started to sound scratchy after about 3 meters. With my PC I was probably at least 8-10 meters away and it still sounded quite good.
Equipment I tested with (YMMV )
Headset: Nokia HS-3W
Phone: Nokia 6310i
PC: Linksys BT dongle with 100m capability
What I like about the HS-3W is that the ear-piece is separate from the receiver body, so you don't have a weight hanging on your ear.
