Hi, I ordered my v220 yesterday and it got here this morning! The only problem is that it doesn't work yet. When I turn it on, it says "Registering" on the screen. A few seconds later it shows me "Unregistered SIM" and no signal bars. I can't even call CS. If I put in an AT&T SIM, it works fine, full signal and everything. Is it just taking a bit to activate the SIM? Thanks for any help.

You have to call Cingular and have the SIM activated. Call from a landline since you can't from the cell. They probally didn't activate it before hand, they did that to one phone I bought (but did activate the second on the same order, go figure).

Well, I called 866 CINGULAR. After waiting for 15 minutes to talk to sombody and another 10 minutes for the rep to talk to her manager, they transfered me to the "activation dept" (because the number that they gave me was a "reserved number") where it says that if you placed your order 48 hours ago to basically "give it some time". I pressed "0" to talk to somebody and the estimated wait time was 25 minutes. I couldn't wait for that long. When is a better time to call?

I called again and this time the rep was really helpfull. She said that while my account is in the system there isn't a line on the account. So she said to go to a store or call SALES to fix it. Off to the store I go.

Went to a local store and they fixed me up. For some reason they were not able to activate that number, got me a new number and I was ready to go.

If it is a ported # call 888-898-7685 to activate.
