I had that problem once with my motorola phone.. Unregistered SIM. it wouldn't let me do anything. I turned the phone on and off about two or three times, after a while, it was gone. My dad had the same problem and called cingular they confirmed all you gotta do is turn the phone off nd back on. It should work

A friend of mine just had that error, and she called Cingular support. They had her remove the battery and the sim and blow on the connection to clean it from dust, apparently.. This fixed the problem!

Hi guys,
Got the same problem, too, with Cingular's own V600. It's just started recently beginning of June. I thought it was my SIM card but it's apparent that I'm not the only one having this problem.
I recently got a Razr V3i (unlocked) off eBay and whenever I'm in my apartment, the same problem surfaces. Sometimes it says "Check SIM" when there's no service also.
Anyone can shed a light on how to fix this dilemma?

it has never worked. what a waste of money. i think you should see it working BEFORE you buy.
