Hi all,
I just got a Motorola Razr V3. Not sure if it was doing it all the time but if you just open the flip and put the phone to your ear (without dialing or anything), you hear a humming/high pitch sound. Is that with all V3s or should I return mine? Thank you.

I just bought a V3 3 days ago and noticed the humming. So the following day, I went back to the store exchange it for another V3 and it makes the same humming sound. I figured what are the chances to two random phones having the same problem, so I'm chaulking it up as "it must be the phone."

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your V3 should not be making this sound. I too have a V3 and it's several weeks old not and my earpiece is completely "silent" with the "flip" open. Take it back and exchange. While in the store, have them turn on your phone in the store after the setup and make sure it does not make any noise out of the earpiece.

Funny, this problem seems rather common among you V3 users, my only problem with my V551 is that the speaker is so tiny yet strong enough to blow air into my ear, so I prefer to use speaker phone most of the time as it can become a nuisance when trying to have a conversation.
