hey i just got the motorola v551.. its a great phone.. just one thing.. it has AIM currently installed on it (factory installed).. but i can't seem to connect to it. is there something i have to change in my settings? i already have a screen name and internet access. does anyone know ?

To into WAP and click on AIM and enter your screen name and password and your buddylist should atomatically be there

yea i did all the screen name stuff, there are sections i can enter a few things... under isp settings i can enter:
1. GPRS APN
2. User Name (not screen name)
3. Password (not for screen name)

icon_surprised.gif I'm Having the same problem too. Im an Aol User myself. Hopefully changing some isp settings will solve this problem. Even going into the internet messenging (media Net) part i cant even log on to AoL.

im having the same problem....i accidnetly swicthed the isp setting but then i changed them back to
1. GPRS APN: wap.cingular
2. User Name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
3. Password: CINGULAR1
but when i tried 2 sign on it said OPERATION FAILED: CONNECTING
plz help!

do u think its the server's connection. although i dun have AOL but my ICQ works fine.
try to sign-up an ICQ account and try to connect. if it work then it have to be something wrong with the AOL server.

ok i had the same problem with aim not connecting because i put my aim screen name and password in where the cingular stuff should be so you put the right username and password in that is posted in here earlier the CINGULAR1 for the password.....and it still didnt work rite....? that is probably because you didnt put it in all caps and ya its case sensiteve....at least that is what the problem was for me i hope this helps

I am at this same point as well, but i cannot figure out how to enter text in CAPS!! My phone will only give me lowercase. icon_frown.gif

Hit the '0' key before typing the text... that will put you into CAPS... You may have to press '0' once or twice to get it to stay in CAPS....
