Hi all

Apologies if you all know this already, but I have spent the last few days looking for this info on the web and couldnt find a howto!

The steps below are copied from a previous post of mine.

Quote:
OK, have figured it out and feel rather stupid... nm isnt the first time!

For anyone else out there having the same probs the solution is as follows:

1. Pair your iPAQ and mobile via bluetooth. (plenty of threads on how to do this - motorola your documentation on this is pants).
2. Turn Bluetooth on on your mobile
3. Turn Bluetooth on on your IPAQ (could be any pocketpc)
4. Go into Contacts on the IPAQ and bring up the context menu on the contact you wish to transfer
5. Select 'send via Bluetooth'
6. If devices are paired correctly then the next screen should display your mobile. Select it and click on OK.
7. Once the iPAQ has connected to the mobile you will be prompted (on your Mobile) to accept the transfer. Select Accept and then save the contact.
8. Job done!

If you want to send more than one contact at a time just select all the contacts you want to transfer then follow same procedure.

Anyway if this helps someone then maybe I wont feel such a plonker! (maybe looking for reassurances here icon_redface.gif )

Cool.. a sticky icon_biggrin.gif

Update:

You do not need to turn on Bluetooth on your IPAQ (step 3) as this will turn on when u try to send the data via Bluetooth automatically, and then turn it off again once the transfer is complete.

This also works for calendar appointments on my 525! Exactly same process as above.

I'm having troubles sending a contract from my IPAQ to my Motorola V551. Following the instructions above seems to work without problem, no run, no drips, no errors. But after the ipaq is finished sending the contact does not appear in my phone! Its just not listed in the address book on the phone.

I know the bluetooth is working. Using the ipaq I can browse the files on the v551 and have even uploaded a few files just to test out the connection.

Not sure what else I'm doing wrong. Any hints?

This works with the 551 for both contacts and appointments. However, once in a while the appointment has the wrong time or the name is not complete on the 551. Have you seen anything like and/or know of a fix? I do have the latest ipaq 2215 BT patches installed.

Also, how does one send contacts and appointments from the 551 to a ipaq 2215? Whenever I try, the 551 trys to connect to the Pocket_PC device, but is unable to find it?? This is true even though I can go from 2215 to 551?

Thank you for the detailed steps -- they are very! useful.

I posted questions to Motorola and HP about this issue. The response from Motorola was that they comply with BT standards and it must be a Ipaq problem. The response from HP was that my system is past the 1 yr warranty, but maybe a hard reset would help (yea, right, then reinstall everything).

I guess I will wait for MPT and see if that works any better.

Hi
nice tuto I did that already bur it works once in a while:

I have an ipaq 6915 and a nokia 6300
when I send the contact from ipaq I see it on my nokia every time without probleme but when I try to save it İt gives an error.

This doesent happen with complicated names or contacts with lot of information. for exemple a contact I added to do a try:
name: oliverde8
phone(home):123456

^^ it is all but I see it nicely on nokia once sent but nokia can't save it correctly icon_cry.gif

Thanks a lot
