duceduc, no, the phone does not search for BT when the phone is turned off then on. And yes, the headset was already programmed and turned on when I tried this. Actually, I've tried it both ways. Literally, it's like the phone completely loses any programming I've done with BT once the phone is shut off.

boy, I don't understand why you're replying to my post when you have nothing meaningful to say. You didn't even read my first post or you wouldn't keep asking what type of headset I'm using. I'd really appreciate it if you would stop replying to my posts. I'm looking for help/advice here, not idle chatter.

I had the same problem with my V3. Even though you bonded and said yes to bluetooth, you could have had it "temporarily on" in the 551. It is possible to bond this way. That means the next time you open the flip on the HS810 to use it (after powering down 551) and make bluetooth connection, the bluetooth on the 551 is now OFF. Start over and make sure you do not say yes to "temporary connection" but yes to bluetooth "on".

Are you absolutely sure that it has unbonded or unpaired. I have a v551 and a jabra headset and whenever I turn off my phone or headset for charging since one or both of the devices is off the connection is broken. The only thing I have to do to re-bond the devices is to go to Menu >> Tools >> Connection >> Bluetooth Link ( Shortcut to this point set one of you shortcuts to Bluetooth Link )>> Handsfree and select my headset and it will reconnect

My post from yesterday must have gotten lost in the ether. I said we had finally gotten her HS to work properly, even tho we don't know what we did differently. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.
