Und530, Are you still working there, and can you help me? I have a very similar problem. My husband and I have the AT&T Family shared plan, he lost his phone and I am unable to get a replacement phone for him on the AT&T plan and I am told I cannot migrate to Cingular's service without buying 2 new phones. (I have no problem paying for the phone my husband lost --- but am not willing to pay for another phone when my works just fine.) |
you can get a replacement...the rep should know this ( I am one as well) call them back...pose the same question to the rep... if you get the undesired response escalate to a supervisor...

Thank you for your reply. I was finally able to get the matter resolved.....but I must say it was VERY frustrating and took wayyyy too many phone calls/holds/transfers/dropped calls. I spoke to two reps who were able to help and probably 8 reps & a supervisor who had no clue. From my experience with this situation, and comments from others, it sounds like this is not an easy transition for AT&T / Cingular. I hope things smooth out going forward!

hey, i have a problem. i spent about 30 minutes at the cingular store talking to a guy about my problem. here's the thing: i got a new phone off ebay--however, i didnt get an unlocked one because i thought my SIM card would work---i have a samsung phone and then bought another samsung---AND i had at&t, and the phone i got was a cingular. BUT i thought we had merged already since all of our stuff was sent to cingluar and through them. so my problem is that my sim card in fact does not work. it says wrong card. so i went tothe store and asked the man if i could just buy one and he said yes they are $25. so i was going to go ahead and do that. but, when he typed in my number and all, it said he couldnt do it because i havent migrated. and the thing is, i am on a family talk plan with two other people. we all are still on at&t. and he pretty much said i cant use my new phone unless i merge, or get it unlocked. and he said he couldnt get it unlocked because he didnt have the equipment and that samsungs are hard to unlock anyway.
so my question for you is if there is any way without migrated to cingular that i can use my new phone with the same number etc.??
and if we migrated, would that be good or bad?
