Hi...I am going to be spending 21/2 weeks in Mazatlan, Mexico in March and want to have a cell phone to use down there. I have a very basic (cheap) plan here in the midwest. Being able to call in Mexico with this plan is not and option...or with any of their plans.
The phone is Nokia about 3 years old. No snazzy gadgets on it ;(
I am told by friends there that I may be able to bring that phone along and have it re-programmed down there and use prepaid card for service....
Or....Can I just buy a phone cheaply with some free minutes included and then go with the buying more minutes...does any one have any experience with doing either one of these options?
One more thing...which phone would you buy so as to be able to use it in the States when I get back.
